"What a wonderful place, very beautiful and relaxing. Accommodation absolutely top notch, staff even better. Having stayed in several highly rated 5 star hotels during our month long tour of India we felt this to be the best. If you're looking for the backwater experience in true comfort and style then this gives you that. We hired a day boat which picked us up from the bottom of the garden. We spent the evenings watching the boats go by and the chinese fishing nets being used. Realy all one...

I'm usually critical, and don't give such ratings easily -- but I want to specifically thank TAJ KUMARAKOM's accommodation manager, the housekeeping in-charge, and the restaurant team for making our stay MEMORABLE for a family occasion. They went out of their way to make it special with cake, decorations, and EXCEPTIONAL service. We experienced the magic of the TAJ experience, and the staff members definitely lived up to this ideal. "Stayed there with my family of 3 on NY eve last year. The property was well maintained. While we didn’t get to try all the amenities due to the NY eve rush, the complimentary boat ride on the lake Vemnad was amazing (I would highly recommend to book in advance as it fills our fast). Food was ok. I would recommend this place who wants a quiet, family friendly place in Allepey. "
