"My husband and I stayed in a standard room for our first night. We felt it was too small and didn’t have any view of the ocean from the small terrace. Probably more suited for younger surfers. We asked to be upgraded to a Deluxe Double Room with ocean views! What a difference! It was stunning! We loved our beach view from the large, relaxing balcony. The room was very large, clean and welcoming. It was definitely worth the extra money! The staff were extremely sweet and friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was delicious but limited to one main dish, a juice and a tea or coffee. If you want extra it’s quite cheap so no problems there. The pool is lovely but small and is situated alongside the restaurant, so if you’re swimming people in the bar/restaurant can see you. Being an older person I didn’t use it as I was too embarrassed. There’s not much around the area however it is the perfect place to relax, unwind and chill out! We would stay there again just for the relaxed atmosphere, wonderful staff and stunning room with a view! "

"Amarta Beach Retreat in Tabanan is located right on a natural black sand beach which has stunning sunsets and is a lot quieter than the crazy beaches in Kuta, Legian or Seminyak. Peaceful, beautiful and quiet - perfect for a 3 night stay and a great location to explore the stunning Tabanan region - esp. villages, magnificent rice fields Bali is famous for, temples, night markets and cosy hill side cafes. "Room was spacious and clean. Loved that they had walk in shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gardens are beautiful & well maintained, very tropical which also meant during wet season lots of mozzies. Pool areas were great. Good location."

"The staff was kind and courteous! Rooms were spacious, but could do with a freshen up, and remove wallpaper as it’s peeling from humidity, so if you are bougie then maybe not your style. The grounds were well kept and the large gazebos facing the water (sit a whole family) were great. The area was quiet and a bit isolated, but had shuttle where you need to go and "

"Staff was fabulous and kept the room and gardens as emasculate as possible. One thing that was substandard was extremely low water pressure in the shower. Barely a trickle and difficult to get it warm. There was also significant mold issues even with the great cleaning. I’m sure mostly due to the warm moist climate "
