"A quiet and clean hotel where guests are made very welcome. Locstion is nice and close to the city center. I understand that the hotel is taken over by another owner not too long ago, so there is some work to do to make it even nicer. I hope to return here in the future."

Gorgeous property, Gorgeous front of house staff

"From the minute you walk in, you can instantly tell that this is the kind of hotel that has excellence as its main objective, I was greeted by a lovely lass at reception who checked me in, she was confident & had great personality, it was easy an absolute pleasure to had met her, even for that short spell, she made me feel most welcome (well done, most impressed) I only wish I got her name, I stay in hotels literally every night for anything from 3-6 wks at a time all over UK & Europe, some like this just a 1 night & I’m off again, sometimes several nights whilst I’m part of an event team, but not in a long time had I stayed overnight in such a spacious & comfortable room as this, I think my 1st flat was almost the same size ! the bed was slightly too soft for me & my ageing bones, yet I did like the way it kind of felt initially as you sank into it upon lying down, liken it to lying on a fluffy cloud ! This really though, was a superb find for me, stepping away from the usual beside the motorway style accommodation, it’s a gorgeous property, well presented with staff that matched this in every way, well done & thank you for a fantastic if not brief stay."

A delightful place to stay

"We were delighted with our stay at The Ship Inn, right from the warm welcome to someone checking whether we'd left something behind. The building has lovely windows, with light and views coming in from all angles. The food was delicious, and we were particularly pleased to have a small bottle of real milk in our room. "

"Beautiful, compact barn in a beautiful, quiet setting. Has a useable garden too. You will need a car to stay here. Beautifully decorated, enough for 2 adults as its very compact. We had ice cream, eggs, milk supplied which was nice too. Downside is that the check in is late at 4pm and check out is very rigid at 10am, we asked for an extension,even 30mins as we had a baby, but they said no (I did also check and the property did not have anyone coming to stay when we were checking out, so we would have loved a bit of flexibility). There was alot of dust-fluff behind the TV and bedside cabinets, but not a huge issue. The only reason I raise this is because we were also informed we can't have a later check out because of the cleaners and sadly to see this was ashame. Apart from that, great weekend away. Would highly recommend if the timings work for you. Note that there are no shops locally so you will have to do a shop on your way or use uber eats! Thanks for a lovely weekend away in the countryside :-)"
