Good property for whats needed. I go over once twice a year. All is needed is a Bed and shower and basics .propert is clean and centrally located. Good price for a Good stay

Basic hotel in Mainz
I had read some bad reviews about this place after I had booked it and was not looking forward to staying there. However, check-in was easy with the machine and the room was clean. There was a small kitchen in the room which is handy. The decor is a bit dated but you can’t really complain for the price.

Excellent alternative to a Hotel, especially if you stay longer than a day. Room had its own kitchenette with microwave, coffeemaker, kettle and fridge. Small Supermarket is only 6 minutes away.

The hotel has 80s decor in reasonable condition. There are no staff on-site, but the rooms are perfectly clean. The touch screen check-in machine sometimes asks for extra guest details, but happily it accepts single letter answers to save time! My latest stays have been during a heatwave and the hotel would definitely benefit from air-conditioning !

Nice, budget place in Mainz
I would definitely stay there again. It's not expensive, auto check-in and check-out (I was there three days and didn't see one staff!). It's clean and quiet. The bed is comfortable. It's small but more than adequate.

Very good centrally located but quiet apartment
Checking in was an issue as the automatic machine was malfunctioning and there is no manned reception. I had to ring the administration team and fortunately someone was cleaning upstairs who let me into my room and later produced a key card. Despite this bad start the room was very good, I had asked for a low floor and was allocated a ground floor room. Modern coffee machine, kettle, fridge and microwave plus adequate cutlery, crockery and utensils for one. However coffee, tea, sugar and creamer were not resupplied after day one, despite my requests, and I was there for a week. There was no heating and hot water one morning but this was resolved quickly after I telephoned the admin team.

Ok place to stay.
This is a first . . . staying at a place where there is NO front lobby with reception desk and people! Automated check-in. I arrived about 2 PM and was not able to check in because the automated machine didn't let me check in until an hour later. Had this been a hotel with a staff . . . more than likely, I would have been able to check in at 2 PM. The walk to nearest restaurant and back with suitcase was not pleasant. Had there been a staff; I would have been able to leave suitcase until check-in time. I was unless not happy that there was no elevator . . . if there was one, I did not see it! And my room was on the 5th floor! I was not happy! The room itself was small . . . but it was a nice room and was clean. I have very mixed emotions about this place!

Clean, newly-renovated pension. Comfortable small room with adjacent kitchenette. No onsite reception, but check-in kiosk was intuitive and easy. Located on lovely side street in "old city" of Mainz. Mostly quiet, though there was some late night noise from people leaving nightclub down the street. Easy 15-minute walk from train station.

Great option in fantastic location
Great option in a perfect location-10 mins walk from the main train station and to Aldi, 3 mins to the old city, shopping/restaurant precinct, beautiful German bakeries and the busses. Although the hotel has no reception, only a computer terminal to check in, the administration staff was very friendly, fast and helpful to extend my stay and keep the same room via phone and email. Room was in good condition at good size. The tiny kitchenette was certainly sufficient for my 2 nights there. Very nice senseo coffee machine. It might be good to know that the hotel spreads over five stories without an elevator. It suited me to be in the 5th floor and walk some sets of stairs several times to work off the beautiful German food ;) The only downside was the very limited signage which makes it tricky to find (I went past the first time without noticing). The bed was comfortable and surroundings quiet which helped to a good night's sleep. I have no hesitation to recommend EJ9 as a great option for a short stay in Mainz.

Good hotel, bad checking in system.
Room was great but an absolute faff to check in using a machine that needs your reference number. Apparently they sent me an email. Well I didn't get one. Had to phone up to be interrogated before the guy at the other end remotely issued my card. They need to scrap this system and employ a receptionist.
