Mahmoorganj Trip

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The food served in their restaurant is excellent. The bathroom in the deluxe room was a bit odd in terms of how the toilet was set relative to the shower but it was fine. The location relative to the temples and the main ghats of the river Ganges is ok but definitely not close enough to walk in few minutes. However, the price is definitely way too high for the location, type of rooms and the service. The quality of the duvet cover and bed covers was not good. It looked like it had seen several years worth of use. No channels were available on the TV. Even after mentioning it to the receptionist, only few random channels were provided. Also, we were surprised to find our room not cleaned when we arrived back later in the day. When we mentioned this to the receptionist, we were told because we hadn't asked them for it and that we took the key with us and that if some item got lost we would blame the staff (fair given that there are unscrupulous people who do this fraud). But seriously! Every hotel has a master key. Secondly, they should have mentioned about the request for cleaning when we were checking in.

While checking in, the room was made but the bed sheets were dirty, the towels were dirty black. While upon asking the receptionist, they did changed to new bedsheets. It was a horrible experience overall. Please avoid to stay.

1. Half the items on the restaurant menu were not available 2. The service was really slow… and at times there was no response ( example- in my 6 days of stay they didn’t replace my faulty hair dryer) 3. The elevators and in general all the rooms had a particular stink… The guy in charge though, Suraj was a good and helpful person but I don’t think he knows the competence of the staff. Well now he will know. They have.a taxi service - please don’t use it if the guy incharge is Rajan Singh who would keep changing the rates on you…some people are just to make as money out of you when they see an American passport… very sad.. Overall very average to below average service for the price point.
