"The hotel is delightfully old school. Table cloths in the large dining room and carpeted floors making for a peaceful atmosphere where one could be heard. The balcony in our spacious bedroom was a joy from where we were able to occasionally see red deer. The staff were enormously helpful in moving luggage - there are no lifts. All in all a delightful experience."

"This is an old property in need of external upgrade and maintenance. Not like the photos. Great location and lovely Seaview. Easy walk down to Harbour and town. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Room was very hot in evening. Windows open and fan on. Bathroom needs a good bleach clean. Breakfast room has a nice view, selection of foods poor. Fruit disgusting. Hot food ok. Nothing cooked to order. Pastries burnt. Not good value for money."

"My friend and I spent Wednesday night there, and received a VERY friendly welcome from a nice lady at the reception desk. Unfortunately, there are no lifts and the stairs are rather steep and spiral too, which as two elderly men with walking sticks we found quite hazardous with our luggage. When we got to our room, which was on the first floor, the light in the shower room and loo was broken, resulting in complete darkness with the door shut. I went back and spoke to the lady who had welcomed us and her surprise at the light not working seemed 100% genuine and she apologised profusely and said she would "get it fixed". Then she very quickly and efficiently got us moved to another room, also on the first floor, which was absolutely perfect. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and friendliness but disabled people need to be aware of the stairs."

"large, clean room with plenty of added touches - hairdryer, tea tray, toiletries, loads of storage space. Knowledgeable staff went over and above to help me. Very quiet, easy to find, shower and bath in bathroom."
The Harbour House Hotel

"Room 1 should be advertised/used as a single room as too small for 2 people. It wasn't value for money! No chair to put anything & limited storage. The bathroom needs some hooks or a rail for towels. It was clean. All food we had was very good. All staff were helpful, friendly & polite. We will go again but request anything but Room 1!"
