"My family joined me while I attended a convention. The rooms here are perfectly sized for a small family to comfortably share one room. They are much more spacious than similarly priced rooms at other nearby hotels. The facility seemed well maintained. They have done a nice job of updating the rooms and we felt that everything was pretty nice. The age of the building shows through here and there, but overall I’d say that it is as nice and better value compared with other hotels of its age and price on the Riverwalk. We had excellent service all throughout our stay. I travel very frequently for work and must say that ALL of the staff here stood out being very friendly, kind, and responsive. Stephanie at the front desk and the bell hops made our stay great. We ordered food from room service once and it was all very good. The drinks we had in the bar were also excellent. Prices were all commensurate with what one would expect from a hotel on the Riverwalk, but I think the quality for price was just a touch above and represents good value as well. The valet parking is expensive but priced in line with all of the other downtown hotels. There are slightly cheaper sled-parking options close by if you can find space, but overall I’d rank it worth it. Be prepared that car retrieval can take a while during rush hour times. Hotel Contessa is a great value for money and we had a fantastic stay. We highly recommend it and would stay here again. "

"The property has a very close proximity to the river walk. Close to the cathedral and most of the restaurants. I would come back for sure. Breakfast was lack luster."
