"It’s ok. Convenient for a morning departure. Basic room. Needs updating. Aircon barely worked but I know aircon isn’t really a thing in the UK. But it was fine. I should have stayed in the city and got up a bit earlier to get to the airport which takes no time really."
"The only downside was the breakfast room bit
Chaotic trying to choose your breakfast items. Suggest 2 Toasters to stop long queues.
Refill jams honey etc regularly
The breakfast itself very good and hot
Staff very helpful"
"After finally being allocated a room, the room was stiflingly hot as this was the hottest May on record, and the in room AC did not work. As such we had to open the window later that evening when the outside temperature had dropped low enough, but were then unable to get any sleep as the hotel backs on to a railway station, and we had to listen to trains arriving and departing probably every 10 mins or so until about midnight. We were leaving the hotel at 3:30am and so had not sleep at all."
"Wonderful quirky hotel In a great location, reception staff were great and received a lovely special birthday welcome at the desk and in my room
My only complaint was regarding drinks in the bar on Monday night. The barman did not have a clue what he was doing, I appreciate that he might have been learning, but I asked for a flavoured vodka, he offered me gin, when I corrected him he dug around at the back of the bar, bypassed the Absolute and pulled out something random from the back. He then struggled to pour the measures, and some considerable time later served the alcohol neat in the glass accompanied by a can of pop. I appreciate we all have to learn but I don’t think you should be behind a bar if you don’t know the basics around vodka or gin. I was then charged £18 for two drinks plus a £2 service charge!
Checkout was great, again lovely friendly service.
The whole feel of the hotel was very quirky and lovely and very different to anywhere I have stayed before.
There was some building work taking place that we weren’t warned about which disturbed us from about 7am, but all in all a nice stay and I would definitely return"
"Counter staff were great, bed was comfortable and air conditioning worked.
Wasn’t impressed by the cleaning staff banging on the door like the building was on fire and then being really abrupt when speaking to us when we still had 2 hours until we needed to check out."
