"My room was spacious with a balcony, the river view description was overstated. The staff were efficient and helpful with tours and things to see. The facilities were clean. There was a good selection of fruit for breakfast"

Great hotel. Super location by the Mekong. Also next door to an excellent restaurant-Ock Pop Tok.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Shuttle into town was easy. Breakfast could be better - pretty basic , but we were there in the shoulder season , so not many guests (which was wonderful in its own right). All in all we had a fantastic time in Luang Prabang and were sorry to leave. FYI there is a hotel shuttle to the train station- so make sure you ask In advance.

We had a wonderful time at Hillside Lodge. It is in stunning countryside (note there is a slightly bumpy 20-30 minute drive from Luang Prabang but we found this to be an added part of the adventure) with a great pool to cool down in either after a days activity or to relax around all day.
The team are amazing and weren’t super helpful in arranging transfers and activities. Khan was an amazing host and the food on site was great as were the fruit juices - kids (and adults) loved it all.

What a lovely place. Nothing to criticise and everything to love. Beautiful setting by a branch of the mighty Mekong with a lovely pool, delightful breakfast and charming helpful staff. The British owner - Ivan - was very personable, interesting and helpful and all his team were terrific. He also owns the Apsaran on the other side of the river. He was in the wine business so he has a fantastic selection of reasonably priced wines - better than anything else we saw. The manager Han was brilliant....

Absolutely the best location in this lovely town where the personnel takes you by electric golf cars. The owner has real feeling for his guests needs and helps the environment in admirable way. You eat your breakfast, and all other meals if you so wish, by the riverside and can enjoy the quietness, calmness and beautiful view around you.

Welcomed to the hotel with juice, warm towel and an even warmer welcome. Check in was fast and efficient.
I loved the complementary water was in glass bottles and breakfast was cooked fresh to order instead of buffet style. The ingredients were good quality too.
The grounds were beautiful and very relaxing, I would stay here again.
One thing to note is that due to steps and gravel paths this may not be ideal for people with mobility problems.

Our first time in Laos and Luang Prabang. The hotel is just 15 mins from the airport and for a small fee the staff will pick you up. The hotel is just out of the main town area but a 10-15 minute walk can get you to the night market or you can use one of the many push bikes. A regular shuttle takes and picks you up to the Post Office. The hotel staff are incredibly polite like alll Laoation people and can't do enough for you. The breakfast is really nice with a blend of local and western foods...

Central location, friendly and attentive staff. Great breakfast to start you off for the day. Excellence aircon in room, spotless clean. Giving of alms is right outside the hotel. Offered laundry service and transfers at reasonable cost. Only gripes, room quite dark and no tv.

UNESCO renovated and protected building. Very typical and beautiful. On slight issue, which was not an issue, as the building is very old the sound proofing was not of modern standard. Staff excellent and attentive. Location and settling in PB could not be better with the ALMs passing right past every morning at 6am. A Most Stay!

Absolutely fantastic hotel with great views.
Shuttle bus into the town just a few minutes away runs often. We didn't find much to do in the town. Very few good restaurants and hard to find them. The waterfalls are a fair distance away but well worth the visit.
Luang Prabang is mainly a destination for backpackers of all ages and for them the town is probably a perfect base to explore from. The scenery is wonderful and there a lots of day trips (and longer) to places of interest.
