Stayed one night in a “snug double” as a solo - perfect size for me and quite comfortable. Used as a base for a local party, so didn’t use the hotel much, but enjoyed an afternoon beer in the lovely outside seating area. Came back late and a wedding do was in full flow - so quite noisy, but didn’t affect me too much, but might if you wanted a quiet night. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Included breakfast was delicious. Free parking felt safe too. Overall a nice stay. I’d choose this place again.

We booked this hotel as its location met our requirements. That said, it turned out to be something of a gem. We had a comfortable, if slightly dated, room in a characterful building, but it really scored in terms of the staff and the catering. Both breakfast and evening meal were of a high standard and the all the staff were excellent.

It was OK, and nothing more than OK. Tired looking room. Not dirty, just needed attention to paintwork, and finishing touches. We weren't there to watch T.V. but when you get back to the room after being out, we like to relax with watching the T.V. for half an hour or so. We couldn't get a decent picture and spent more time trying to move the aeriel around. We stay in a lot of hotels and almost all have the T.V. wired through the wall into a central aerial. When you pay for a premium room, you shouldn't really be have to be messing around with the fixtures and fittings. We arrived back at the hotel at about 10.30pm in time for a night cap, however, the bar was closed. The night porter had to open everything up to provide us with a couple of drinks. It took around 10 minutes to get served. Not the night porters fault, he was rushing around trying to do other things. Nobody on reception when we left in the morning, nowhere to deposit the room key, so we just left it on the reception desk. We just felt a little bit like we weren't wanted there, and left feeling a bit flat.

Pictures Vs Reality Disappoint
I booked this hotel based on the excellent reviews and the pictures on the website. The room I was initially put in was tiny, tired, outdated and generally shappy - totally the opposite to the pictures on the website. The room was so cold I could see my breath! Having booked for 2 nights I checked availability and could see other rooms were available so went to reception to request to be moved only to be told they were fully booked, I questioned this and was told the website was incorrect, I persevered and was then told there was a room available and was moved to a refurbished room. The food was surperb but to preserve their reputation for travelling guests they should not be offering rooms of such an inadequate standard. Once moved my stay was pleasant but I won't be returning even though I visit this area for work frequently as I do not want to risk being allocated another room like the I was initially given.

The food in the restaurant is really very good indeed and consistently so. Great value for money food and drink. Decent wines by the glass selection. Excellent cooked breakfast. Well trained and friendly staff. When I’m not staying in Leeds city centre, this will be where I stay over on business / have dinner going forward.

Friendly staff made my stay at Healds Hall like a home from home experience. The food served in the restaurant was amazing and a large choice to suit every palate. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would almost certainly stay again !

We had a one night stay because we were going to a concert in Huddersfield. Great location for the venue! Fantastic, friendly staff (Charley in particular, was very professional, nothing was too much trouble)!The room was immaculate and quiet. Breakfast was included and was 5*. I highly recommend this hotel, we will be back. Thank you

Very good as has been when staying there before many years ago. The restaurant is still very good although Erdinger is no longer on tap, other choises are however not bad. One minor annoyance this time was the hot water which was not to hot this time around.

I’ve stayed here on a regular basis when in the area for work. The staff are always brilliant - helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and comfortable and I always have a great nights sleep. I don’t often have dinner, but breakfast is always delicious

good find
I've stayed here for work on a few occasions. it is comfortable and close to where i need to be. the breakfasts are good and although i haven't eaten dinner here the bar area and menu looks good. i'll stay again

A stunning Hotel with massesof character and charm, the staff are so friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant is top quality never had a bad meal. Would definitely recommend as i have been coming here for 3 months and only had great experiences

Great hotel in it’s own grounds, wonderful staff who are all happy to help. Great breakfast and room has all the amenities you need for a night or two away. We had an event in Halifax, took about 25 mins in a taxi to get there. Enjoyed our stay and would def recommend.

Great hotel
Brilliant hotel. Booked for a gig at John Smiths. Easy busy into City from Hotel and cheap Uber back afterwards. Hotel staff were great and really helpful. Breakfast was also lovely next morning. Really can’t fault it in anyway
