We stayed at the Dixie dea for 1 night as we were going to a Ball in liverpool, unfortunately our hotel room was poorly cleaned, there was remains of pubic body hair in the shower tray (very obvious). The mugs for hot drinks were filthy inside (tea/coffee stained from previous use) we had to wash them up before we used them. The bedding also had remnants of hairs and dirt. When you sit to do your nake up in the mirror the seat is extremely low to the floor so you cant even see into the mirror, on the dressing table was dust like it hasbt even been wiped over for over a week! For nearly £200 for a 1 night stay in a 4* you would expect cleanliness to be on point. We wanted to mention our findings to reception for them to rectify, there was no phone in the room so we had to go back down to reception where they said they will come up to see the room and advise. When they came up they very very apologetic and offered us a bottle of prosecco and a deep clean from housekeeping as they were fully booked so couldn't offer an alternative room. The house keeper came and deep cleaned the bathroom and said she will change our sheets when we leave for the ball so shes not working around us. When we returned later that evening sadly the bedding wasnt changed as promised which was disappointing. The hotel is in a great location, just a shame its not clean.

The girl on reception when we arrived was friendly and very helpful. She pointed out the hotels Hillsborough memorial on the wall which is very moving.Our room was huge and very comfortable. The hotel is a short walk to the City centre shops and there are many great pubs and restaurants close by. Breakfast was excellent.

Good hotel at a decent price. Breakfast good, location good, huge room but shower head was very dirty and sprayed everywhere rather than down ! Flooring in bathroom had holes and room carpet damaged. Lack of cleanliness/care just lets it down a little but overall decent stay.

Breakfast was pretty limited. I love going to a hotel breakfast so was shocked how little was offered. Cooked English or nothing. Warm orange juice. Had to run after waitresses to get coffee. I would not go back.

Gorgeous hotel! The room was huge with 4 double beds. Only slight negative was the heating was on 26 degrees in the room when we checked in so took a while to cool the room down! Other than that we had the best stay and would definitely go back

We came for one night for my birthday, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was lovely. The breakfast was plentiful but could have been hotter but on the whole a great night!

Potential but needs improvement.
We booked to stay for a friends suprise 30th birthday. We booked a room for 8 people with 4 double beds (there was only 4 of us). Upon arrival we checked in and went to our room only to find out there was 1 double bed and 2 single beds pushed together to make a double. We went to recpetion to query why we had been given a smaller room. We were then informed that our origianl booked room the shower was broken so we had been moved to alternative room to avoid being outsourced to a different hotel. We queried why this hadnt been mentioned at check in literally 5 minutes ago and asked if there would be any compensation for being put in a smaller room, it felt as though the staff were hoping we wouldnt notice (also wonder why we hadnt been prewarned before check in). We were then told 'you can have the room with a broken shower or the smaller room thats your options'. We were very unhappy about this and a different staff member sorted a room the size we had origanally booked which we were grateful for. The room was nicely decorated but deffo on the worn side, there was food on the bathroom floor and the door handle kept coming off from the inside of the bathroom. The room was large and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was nice but it took 20 minutes before we could get a staff member to order a hot drink. The location is good within easy walking distance to most things in liverpool.

Overall, very good value for money. I am being very picky when mentioning these points for people who may have higher expectations than me. I was happy with my hotel, service and facilities as compared to my usual place of stay (travel lodge, premier inn, etc..,) this hotel was cheaper for 5 (2 adults, 3 children) compared to others. With an added bonus of buffet breakfast. Decor and customer service was outstanding. I was dissatisfied that my room heating did not work which was quickly fixed by Shaun on nights with a replacement electric heater. The bathroom was decorated well but, had some sealant problems around the bath. The spa bath was working well with nice Warm water and shower, however, the jets were giving out some mouldy bits on the first use but, stopped once it was refilled. All in all we all enjoyed our stay at a very goof price.

It was a lovely stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. In a great part of town and very convenient for any activities/ amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

The customer service was really good, especially when we arrived back at the hotel late after our meal. The bar man even acknowledged us asked how our evening had been, ensured we knew they were still serving and how I could have the tv on or music. It was a lovely atmosphere and our room was lovely too. Overall great experience.

great hotel
large rooms, clean and comfy. Great Breakfast, plenty of choice!! only picky things is that the room could do with more sockets, only two which were plugged in with the lamps. will also add maybe more soundproofing, listened to the couple next door having a “great time” until 2am!
