Got an email at 4 am the day of checkin telling me that my reservation had been cancelled at my request. We were set to travel by train that morning from Porto to Lisbon, and I was worried that we would be scrambling for accommodations while in travel mode, as I had NOT requested a cancellation and this notice came out of the blue. Long story short, they did reinstate our reservation, but only because I happened to awaken and see this 4 am email. When we arrived for checkin, I mentioned the issue to the host, who basically said, “you have a room, so what’s the big deal?” No apology, no upgrade, no breakfast, just “quit complaining, lady,” (more or less). Didn’t sit well with me, so I had a hard time liking it, but everything else was actually fine…location was great. They were cheap on basics like soap, shampoo and coffee, but nothing serious, just irritating. Would not choose to return.
