When we first saw the premises I thought it was quirky and quaint - filled with antique furniture and quirky oddities. There was no one in reception. In fact, we saw no one during our 1 day stay. We received advance instructions, as you would in an AirBnB, and we picked up our keys (an adult son and his wife were in the next room) at the reception desk. Then I tried to open the door...nearly impossible. After 3 people trying the old lock, finally success! We wound up keeping the door unlocked because there was no quick way to vacate in case of an emergency. The room was large with (too much) old furniture, and not one comfortable chair in the room. There was only one nightstand. Then it turns out that although we had ordered 2 Superior rooms (with private bathrooms), our two rooms shared a bathroom...down the hall...The bathroom looked like a converted utility room. There was mould surrounding the perimeter of the shower base and a spurt of water from the shower drain with every large flush. Obviously, despite our long journey, there would be no shower for us. The bed was terribly uncomfortable and the pillows were paper thin. The noise from the street was constant. On the plus side, there was free parking and the location could not be better. Would I stay there again? Absolutely not.
