"The staff was great but other than the historical relevance, I found the Hotel underwhelming and the price point unjustified. I found a lack of respect for maintenance. Public bathroom smelled of urine. The lock on the stall door was broken and replaced with a cheap slide lock. I would have expected a higher level of concern for maintaining the integrity of the property. I’ve stayed in nicer hotels, with more amenities, exceptional service and a “Wow factor” that was missing from here. Just basically felt like the most impressive part, was the history and the rest was left "

"Check-in through expedia was quick and painless, staff spoke both english and french perfectly, parking was sufficient with additional parking on the side of the building when front parking was full, room was very well furnished and comfortable. My only criticism is that the walls are a bit thin and it is quite a distance from most activities including downtown Ottawa and the Casino, but you get more than you pay for with the discounted rate that this location often features."

"Room was clean and very spacious. The staff are all pretty friendly, gave us a voucher for 2 glasses of wine for free which was unexpected but a really nice surprise! Gave us a chance to check out the rooftop bar. The room is so quiet, you can’t even tell you’re in the Byward market so we really enjoyed that. Valet was easy and really convenient as I didn’t have to worry about parking downtown. Close walk to everything. Would definitely stay again!!"
