Everything was excellent with the exception of being unable to use the pullout sofa bed. The matress on it was dirty, stained and smelled. Everything else was perfect best stay so far.
I liked that it was an easy check-in. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. The halls were clean and smelled good as well as the elevator. The free breakfast was a plus. Good experience.
This hotel is wonderful!! We only stayed one night, but if I were to stay for multiple days, this is the place to stay! It has a full, functioning kitchenette (complete with dining area), couch/living room space and a separate bedroom. I especially loved the fact that the mirror /sink were outside of the toilet/bath room, allowing for residents to use the bath facilities without having to wait for their partners to do make-up/hair etc. The welcoming and extremely friendly staff were also an added bonus. I will definitely be staying here again the next time I travel through Lansing.
The room had a lot of space and amenities. The carpet had some tears in it showing use. He said the bed was not comfortable, but she slept great. The hot tub was out of order and that was disappointing.
Great front desk employee. Booked a 2 bedroom and said it wasn’t available when I got there. Very kind front desk employee gave me 2 one bedrooms right next to each other. Got to the room and it had a clean air machine going and an awful smell. Switched to two other rooms next to each other that smelled like curry but no other rooms to move to. Wish I would have just left. Hotel is very dated and there are even soft spots in the floor on the 2nd floor hallways that were very scary, ice machine didn’t work, hot tube closed. 👎👎

The carpet had many stains. Breakfast was limited and cold food. The place needs updating but was ok. Staff was attentive to the not having room keys issue. They had to let everyone in to rooms over 24 hours.
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Our room was perfect, clean and spacious. Saturday morning breakfast was great but Sunday, was not. They only had small plates out and the eggs and sausage tasted fake. My only room complaint would be to get better bed pillows. They felt like they were just pillowcases stuffed with stuffing. Not firm or comfortable. Otherwise, we will be back.

I called ahead to request an early check-in and was told it wouldn’t be a problem. But when I arrived at the expected time, the room wasn’t ready. I could deal with that, but what happened next was absolutely disgusting.
When I finally got to our assigned room at 2 a.m., the door was wide open like anyone could just walk in. Inside, the bed had no sheets, the bedding was filthy like someone had slept there before without changing anything, and every drawer and cupboard was left open. It felt like walking into a nightmare of filth and neglect. This is beyond unacceptable—it’s a serious health hazard.
I immediately reported this to Danie at the front desk, who was incredibly helpful and understanding. She listened carefully, apologized sincerely, and quickly arranged for us to be moved to clean rooms. Her kindness and professionalism were the only bright spots in this awful situation.
Then, after barely five hours of restless, gross sleep, someone else tried to get into our room, claiming it was theirs. This level of chaos and disregard for basic hygiene and security is appalling.
The reason I originally booked a 2-bedroom suite was because I had a younger female with me so we could stay together for safety and comfort. But when we got moved to new rooms, she had to be separated, and then someone actually opened her door trying to get in. That made the whole situation even more unsettling and stressful.

The staff at Residence Inn were amazing. Very professional, accommodating, friendly and attentive. They are honestly the best thing about the place. From pictures and other guest reviews.. it’s not entirely accurate the condition of the property. It is in due for renovations, the owners mentioned it when I bumped into them at the end of my stay. The towel rod fell down multiple times in the bathroom, the bedroom’s black out curtain were ripped with the entire panel gone… it surprises me that they will leave it like that for guest. The property is smoke free, however the first room received smelled like fresh cigarette smoke, not from a guest that checked out earlier before. Very concerning considering that the cleaning of the room was just completed by staff while we waited to check in. The staff were quick to resolve and relocate us which was greatly appreciated.
The rooms also smelled musty like there is poor circulation/ventilation.
Overall an average property, looked way better in pictures because in person it did not look the same. The staff were amazing and the best part about it.

I never like to complain when I am less than satisfied with a service or visit to an establishment. I try to give the benefit of the doubt because I do not know the underlying circumstances that happened prior to my service. However, there were so many issues since we checked in that I need to at least mention them without placing blame or accusing anyone of poor service. Let me stress that the staff was wonderful in addressing these issues and I know they were not at fault. Some of the issues were: a toilet that kept running (I fixed it myself, it was a chain that had dropped to the bottom of the tank), the main door to the hall would not close as the latch was installed backwards (maintenance was prompt in fixing this and the toilet issue), there were blood stains on the carpet in one bathroom, the fireplace did not work (it was summer so we let this pass). Overall, the stay was still nice despite these issues and the staff was very attentive to our needs. Lastly, however, we were on our way to checkout with my sister and 3 grandkids, when the elevator door slammed shut with us in there just as my sister walked out. It was a stressful 10 minutes or less as they tried to get the door to open. All were fine if not a little frazzled. We were there for two days and nights and did enjoy our stay. However, it is doubtful we will return.

We were very very disappointed that the pool was under construction! No pool ! We have an autistic son that lives to swim and was very upset’ they wouldn’t let us cancel 2nd night.
