Top Lake District National Park Hotel Reviews

Seacote Hotel
6/10 Okay
"Summary - great location, fantatstic room, eat somewhere else. We had a lovely room overlooking the beach. It was warm and comfortable. Reception staff were lovely. I would not recommend eating here. The food is less than average - not even the basics right. Awful chips, over zapped baked potato, both meals swimming in shop bought coleslaw and salad full of massive chunks of raw onion. The packed lunch looked like it had been made in the dark and my apple was rotten. Packet grated cheese covered in cornstarch for cooking just fell out, along with last night's salad with those big bits of raw onion. Restaurant staff not nearly as friendly as reception. Go to Whitehaven for supper!"

Lakeside Hotel & Spa
10/10 Excellent
"We only stayed one night but it was enjoyable, the staff were attentive, we enjoyed dinner in the hotel (which was a bit expensive) and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. The bedroom was large and clean, it would have been nice to stay longer to try the pool. It is well sited in a beautiful position on Windermere close to the aquarium and steam railway. Lots going on."

Riverside Hotel
8/10 Good
"Stayed here a few nights after arriving from the US before moving on to other areas in the Lakes. Excellent location in the heart of Kendal convenient to restaurants and shops. Enjoyed a nice hike right from our door along the river and up to the castle."

Lindeth Howe Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Great location for Bowness and friendly helpful staff."

Beech Hill Hotel & Spa
8/10 Good
"Staff were great. Unfortunatley there was refurb going in outdoor spa area. We did get upgraded to have a hot tub which was great. Outdoor drinks terrace could do with smartening up. Greenary/lighting. Room was lovely."

The Belsfield Hotel
8/10 Good
"It was great to see this grand hotel being invested in. The outside looks amazing and our room 38 (double lake view) had just been refurbished and was tastefully decorated with just the best views of the lake and pier. All the staff we encountered from Persia at check in, to Joy in the restaurant & Nick & Moses in the bar were warm and friendly. Not all was perfect unfortunately and the Belsfield is still “work in progress”. On checking in we were told that room service was “on request” (we requested it for our 3 night stay) but this surely should be standard at a 4* hotel. There was also a sign in the room that stated no bottled water is provided unless specifically required and then a visit to reception would be needed. Again, a surprise omission which along with the need to request the room service left us feeling just minutes from arriving that the Belsfield aim wasn’t to do everything possible to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Breakfast, was a buffet and no additional orders such as an omelette was available. All the breakfast offerings to include tea & coffee was crammed into a small corner of what was a large room making for a rather chaotic experience. A small à la carte option of omelette’s, poached eggs, eggs Benedict etc would have been welcomed and would also have taken a little pressure away from the buffet. Despite these aspects, we had a lovely time and would return again knowing some issues will be addressed."

Strathmore Hotel
4/10 Poor
"Stains all over the walls and carpet ,shower head hasn't been cleaned ,stain on bedding"

Pine Lake Resort
8/10 Good
"Nice location, helpful staff. Dvd and Chromecast were hopeless, the shower pressure was a little under whelming and there were no spa treatments when we went as they were off. (Wish we were told)"
