"What a delightful place to stay. The food was excellent, room was very well maintained. Be aware, you will not be in a town so you'll need a car to get around. We walked to the beach one morning and the island is quite pretty."

"Interesting historic building. Great location. Renovations in progress- but no disturbance- itโs a long term project. Enjoyed the grandeur. And seating areas and the bar.A negative was they forgot to clean our room so we had to get new provisions and towels. A bit quirky. Generally a good place to stay on Islay."

"Our second stay at The House at Glenbarr, which is a little gem and well worth a visit and/or stay. Boutique style rooms and a residents lounge with kitchen to enable self catering. If booking The Hayloft, itโs a suite with its own kitchen. On site thereโs a general store, and lovely gift shop, cafe and garden centre. Staff all very helpful and itโs the hub of the wee community of Glenbarr, which is slightly inland hence no sea view."
