Love being by the ocean. 23yrs ago we spent our wedding night here. Our wedding reception was across the street at the La Jolla Bridge Clubhouse.

Terrible hotel and Servises. This hotel has two buildings next to one another, one is the very old one which is poorly kept and managed with mold and safety issues and a new building. When you go through the website, you think you are booking your room at the new building and you have no idea that this hotel has these two buildings next to one another. I am puzzled how department of health allows this hotel to rent these rooms. Also, they charge you for things that you have not used, for example, extra bottles of water which are in the room.Even if you do not use the water, on the last day of your departure, they would make a note that you use the water and you have no way of proving it. A large group of us stayed in this hotel and majority of us had serious concerns. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Check in was good, and the front desk person got me in a room in the updated portion of hotel. No view, but not hotels fault. Room was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, there was a wedding on the 1 night I stayed, so I was not able to enjoy the rooftop view. I understand it is quite nice! Next time. Good location, etc…

I was not happy with the room we got. It is so different from pictures you see booking online. They do false advertisement. They never mentioned they have huge property with small area renovated and the rest old and ugly. I feel my money was not worth my stay. I will never stay there again. False advertisement is not fair for anybody. Be careful when you make your reservation.

This property is very unhygienic, dirty and lacks facilities. The pictures they showed in website during my booking was for renovated rooms and the room given to me old and dirty. Expedia need to verify this and update the property details since this is misleading.

The room was aged and not maintained. No decor, plywood panel walls, shower plumbing needed work, furniture was chipped, and a small space. Not a complainer but disappointed for $500 per night. Great location though.

After I booked this place, I read through the reviews and saw that they were either glowing 8/10 or scathing 2/10. So here’s the deal. This property has an area that is newer/remodeled and these are the pics on Expedia. Those rooms are also very expensive, but have the glowing reviews. I booked the less expensive option. I live locally so I went down to view the property ahead of time because the reviews were so bad and I was thinking about canceling my reservation. I’m glad I did so that we knew what to expect because I can see how people would be disappointed if they look at the main pictures on Expedia and then show up and find it is different. So here’s the deal. The older (more affordable) part is definitely dated and the negative reviews are worth reading if you want to have realistic expectations. On the other hand, if you don’t mind that it’s older, it was clean, affordable, and the views/location are incredible. You are right across the street from La Jolla Coves which has seals. There are tons of shops and amazing restaurants and cafes within walking distance. The staff were nice. The parking is tight but at least it’s convenient. I would stay there again. We had a great time!

The photos of the ocean view king studio on Expedia and the hotel website were misleading. The room that I booked was in the older section of the hotel. I did not realize this and it was not clear at the time of booking. The carpet, walls, molding, and bed frame were stained; the water in the shower did not stay a consistent temperature while showering; and the elevator and hallways were old and poorly maintained. The room was what I would expect at a roadside motel. I would have never booked this room for the price I paid had I known what it truly looked like, The newer wing of the hotel is lovely and I suspect that the positive reviews are from those who stayed on that side of the hotel. The staff was wonderful. they listened to my concerns and offered us a room in the renovated part of the hotel for our second night (there was not a room available on the first night). They made the switch and even permitted us to enter the second room several hours earlier than check in. The second room was much nicer and exactly as pictured. If you book, please select a room that mentions the pines. This is the nice side of the hotel.

The pictures on the website do not show you the rooms they give you. Our room had mold, smelled like mold. The water faucets in the shower did not work and the place was incredibly old and poorly maintained. We had to rush find another place to stay because the mold was unbearable. The advertising is deceiving.

I stayed a room is different from the pictures. They should put old property’s pictures too. Water was clogged at the shower and no fan inside of bathroom. There wasn’t hair dryer too. I only appreciate is they let me check in earlier than I expected.
