"The room was clean but it really does need updating - paint peeling off the walls. The room was cleaned daily The breakfast was not worth getting out of bed for compared to other places we have stayed at and even though it was not great and very little Choice they still got it wrong. The beach loungers are falling apart But the one good thing it’s right on the beach and nice walk to pier area or Sairee beach. "

"Basic but clean room in great location. It’s a 2 star hotel so perfectly adequate accommodation for the price. Rooms cleaned daily. Swimming pool is a plus. In touch restaurant was great to eat at and had amazing sunset views. Only criticism was that the staff at the restaurant/hotel weren’t very friendly. Minimal smiling - unlike any other parts of Thailand that we visited. But their food was great and prices were good and the hotel served its purposes for a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Koh Tao "

"Last night it started to rain as we finished our dinner at Montra hotel, which was lovely by the way. The pathway to our room is not lighted and made even darker with the rain. There are stone tiles leading to our room which are raised at different places, like random steps, which are very difficult to discern in the dark. The rain made the tiles slippery. My husband tripped on one of the raised wet tiles and fell, badly injuring his elbow and knee. Distraught, I ran to reception and asked for a first aid kit. I found it odd that the hotel manager did not look up once from her computer. Compassion alone should have made her inquire when a senior guest ask for a first aid kit to attend to his 76 year old husband. By the way, the first aid kit is lacking. I went out and bought gauze, bandages and antiseptic cream. When we returned the kit in the morning, again she pretended we were not there. I think it reflects poorly on a business when someone injures themselves on your property and management or the other employees at the desk don’t inquire as to the guest's well-being. What if my husband needed hospitalization? This definitely affected my regard for the hotel."

"All things considered… good value. Your own room for 1000bht… hostels were going for as much!! If you’re going to Koh Tao BOOK EARLY!! Can be pricey! The bad… right across the street from 2 bars that go till 2am then you have hostel kids coming back to the rooms till 4-5…lol (they can be loud) Lolol If you are over 35, with a partner, or have a little bigger budget… you probably want somewhere else… if you are 20-30 it’s perfect! lol Tip: there are 2 buildings… try to get the smaller building, 3rd floor facing away from Main Street! Larger unit has restaurant on top and that can be noisy from above as well as the bars! "
