Overall, we like the hotel. Is a big hotel where the rooms are distributed across few buildings or blocks and it is not noisy. However, we were allocated to a ground floor unit with no view which is not to my liking. The landscape of the property can be improved. I was shocked to see a snake and a frog outside of my unit. I didn't highlight to the staff as my unit is close to the nature and on the ground floor. So, for people whom are not nature lover, you might not like the ground unit. Lastly, for stayers whom has tour plans, maybe this hotel might not be a suitable ones as it takes a bit of time and the inconvenience of getting out of the hotel. They will get a buggy to pick you up from the room to the reception, then you can order a hotel transport or taxi to get out of the hotel. This is my first time to Koh Samui, i didn't know the taxi fare is not by metered. Grab is limited, and they have a lot of restricted pick up area which is quite annoying too. Other than the inconveniences, the overall stay in Ritz was still pleasant.

Everything here is wonderful. The breakfast buffet is lovely, service exceptional and the beach and pool area never felt crowded. The beach is a bit rocky, so if you have small children you’ll prefer the pool.

Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! So beautiful and clean. Rooms are immaculate, food was amazing, pool was terrific. Truly don’t have a bad thing to say about this resort. I also really appreciate their allergy postings at the buffet—helped me to avoid nuts during my stay. All the staff was so friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful resort very spread out and very isolated. In the very north of the island. I'm handicapped with difficulty walking. to get anywhere You have to call and get a buggy ride. This was quite annoying as every time we wanted to go anywhere we had to wait in the hot sun usually with other people Vying for the first buggy that would show up. We did find it isolated, but perfect for the vacation that my family needed to reconnect. It was also very inconvenient to get to town and other parts of the island where there was more action, and we always found the shuttles to be full, which created anxiety never knowing if we'd have to book a private ride to go anywhere. The staff were quite good. Karl is the general manager who did a great job taking care of us personally, I was disappointed with the condition of the pool and especially the lounge chairs in the cushions , the beach area was not maintained at all and sorry to report that the condition of the cushions and the lounge chairs were disgustingly dirty. I know the warning the beaches made out of seashells and very difficult almost impossibly painful to walk without shoes. There is no place to swim in the ocean at this resort for anyone wanting to have more excitement variety entertainment I would find a place closer to town.

The property is great however the service is poor and way way below Ritz Carlton standards Buggies took 30 mins for pick up every time we called for it. Pasta had carrots. The beach is a pebble beach whereas if you go to areas like ark bar, the beach is a perfect sand beach. We requested buggy driver to stop at one of our rooms to check if we had left our one of our child's stuff, he didn't budge and told us ' when in Thailand you only follow'. Overall I would not go back to this property again.

Upon arrival, the bedding configuration that was booked was not available. Also on check in, we were informed that all restaurants had to be booked in advance. Once we had arrived at the room, we weren't able to reach reception with our in-room phone because the line was engaged and this was with multiple attempts. Thankfully the reception staff also gave us a WhatsApp number. However, they informed us that there was no availability for a restaurant that evening and only room-service was an option. We were quite disappointed with this level of service - if this was the case, why weren't we informed before arrival? I also shared my issues on my check-in feedback request and no action was taken to rectify it during our stay. Overall, not the service level I would expect from a Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

The property is very nice but requires staff to move you around in cart due to size and hills. They have a shuttle to shopping several times a day but is generally very secluded. All the staff are fantastic and food good. Our room was getting a little dated and needs some upgrading but nice a spacious with outdoor patio and plunge pool.

The staff treated us like VIP guests from the check-in until the check-out. Henry was AMAZING and made sure our trip was a memorable one. I definitely will be returning to this property the next time I take to Thailand!

The resort staff were quick and efficient. They bought us roses and macarons and coconuts upon our arrival for our anniversary. Room was clean. 2 minor incidents - lizard in the room that could not be found and our bed sheets had a dead bug in it. Overall great service!

My family of 3 stayed 6 nights over Easter 2023 at a terrace suite. Our suite, the grounds, spa village, facilities and pool were beautiful and well-maintained with friendly service. We ate every meal and every snack at the Ritz and got food poisoning on two occasions. On night 5, our 10yr old got food poisoning after eating a burger from the kids menu room service. She threw up for over an hour. On night 6, I got food poisoning after eating fried rice and noodles from Luk Yu. I barely slept having had to go to the bathroom all night. At any establishment at any price, we need to be able to trust the food quality, especially from the kids menu. At the Ritz, we certainly expect better. Messages to the hotel and Marriot guest services have gone unanswered. Beautiful hotel if you want to have a look. But hard to stay if even the cooked food cannot be trusted.

There is a lot of walking around the property since it is located on the side of a hill. They are very quick to send a golf cart to pick you up as this is the preferred method of getting around the hotel grounds. Food was great.

The property is an unique experience over the hills in a private beach. We got upgraded to the ultimate villa which is a top-notch phenomenal accommodation with an infinity pool. The staff service is top-notch in terms of attentiveness. The resort managers will come and say hi to you and talk to you about your experience and how to plan your day. The beach is OK for swimming. It is a ultimate resort for couple ratter than family with a very quaint ,relaxing experience ; away from the hustle where the nightlife is. It is situated in a very close proximity to the pier for snorkeling trip as well as to the airport. Overall I would highly recommend this resort again.

Overall everything in the hotel is completely inconsistent and mismanaged. I would recommend staying elsewhere. - We didn't like the view from our room. They mentioned they would check everyday if they could change our room. They never did. - No mosquito repellent in the rooms - had to ask for it. Expect bites on the 1st night! - Our mini bar was never re-stocked (we were there for 5 nights). We specifically asked for it to be re-stocked one day and then was never re-stocked post that. Also probably the poorest selection of any mini bar I've ever seen. - We went to the thai restaurant twice. The 2nd time we had terrible service. We had to get our own cutlery, napkins and plates from a nearby draw. No-one checked on us the whole meal. We had to pour our own wine. The wine list is also the worst I've seen with 10 wines on the whole list. Some of them weren't even available. - Room service left empty trays of food outside our room for over 24 hours at a time. The housekeeping left it outside our room attracting bugs. This happened twice. - Booked thai for two massage. The room where you get scrubbed was clearly dirty and smelled. - On our last night they rang my room at 11pm and woke me up! - I told the manager about all of the above and how unpleasant our stay was. He sent me 10k Marriot Bonvoy points as an apology. That is the equivalent of 1/5th of a night stay in the most basic room at the hotel during off peak - we stayed 5 nights in a pool villa. What an absolute joke.

Travelled with family and stayed in a exclusive pool villa which was very nice. Staff was kind and helpful and especially the staff in-charge of breakfast and pool area were great (Omar/Carl). The resort manager Tanzie was also very humble and helpful in suggesting activities for us as a family. We found our interaction with the reception perhaps the worst. Firstly, the airport transfer never showed up (and I was travelling with a 2 year old), and then the hotel offered to pay for the return transfer - which they never did or offer on the day of checkout. The resort lobby/reception was felt like a boiler room and is very small in comparison to the size of the resort! I have stayed at many Ritz-Carlton hotels around the world and I do believe they are amazing. Koh Samui resort is also great although inconvenient for families as you need a buggy to get around to almost do anything unless you have a villa in the middle (near breakfast/pool and etc). Also, the long staircase/walk to access our villa was a bit of pain.
