Quiet area around the hotel with a short walk from the busy restaurants/stores. Beach with great sand area and possibility to rent a scooter and visit all the other locations around the area. Recommend for someone looking for an easy/safe place to stay with good accessibility to any village around.

Nice bungalows, but the roads to them are not well lit. Most importantly, there are no beach chairs, bean bags, or anything other than sand so sit on. They do not offer towel checkout either, forcing you to use a room towel or buy one. The rooms themselves are pretty decent and the staff was generally nice. They lose out a lot by not having any beach furniture or lighting.

Good value for money, staff not so good.
Pretty decent place & good value for money. The A/c wasnt working well in the room, on complaining, the reception team made it sound like we dont know how an A/c works. Their reaction was that its good enough for us. Was pretty irritating & unbecoming. After about 2 hours we complained again, this time thankfully they changed our room. Telling us to clear out the original room, move our luggage & come to the reception to deposit the key. Would skip staying there again, purely on account of the condescending behavior of the reception staff. Good beach just outside & a short 2 min walk to the main street.

Close to central part of the beach and town. New buildings. good design. Staff helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast is very bad and potentially dangerous. Food lying around in unheated trays, contents always cold and potential bacteria trap. Fortunately food looks very, very unappetizing limiting once interest in eating it. Be very careful what you eat. Easily remedied by offering freshly cooked items to order.

I love this hotel. This will be my 3rd time visiting the hotel. Each time I stay a little bit longer than the previous time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The beach is amazing. Eating the lovely breakfast and watching the sunrise is really something special. The pool is peaceful. The hotel restaurant food is very good and again the view is amazing. I always stay in the deluxe sea view room. The room is always clean and has everything you need. You can hear the sea from your room and some days it's hard not to leave your private viewing area of the beach. The location of the hotel is excellent for both the beach and Lamai city centre. I highly recommend this hotel

Cozy, simple, nice place
I had a lovely stay in Lamai Inn. The room was very basic. I wouldn’t mind to have better bed sheets... the one I had were seeing better times already. The location is simply perfect! 2 min from the beach, nice balcony, basic room with some charm. I will book it again.

Stayed in deluxe room. Right next to kiddie pool. Very loud. The pump for the pool ran continuously, sounded like a dentists drill in our room. Beach was nice, but no chairs available. Staff seemed depressed.

Great place in the heart of Lamai.
Great location, nice staff. Just a minute from the beach. Room is a little dim, but that's fine. Highly recommend!

Great stay, perfect beach location and very close to town centre. On the down side, no showers on the beach to wash off the sand and salt water. And beach towels not provided - so bring or buy your own. However, I'll certainly rebook again for next year.

Nice hotel on the beach
Directly on the beach. Enjoyed having breakfast with the view of the beach. Breakfast buffet excellent! Very close to all restaurants, market, teller machines, family mart, etc. Very long beach for walks, runs, etc. The water is not cristal clear but nice anyway. The water temperature is very hot! Many services offered on the beach, such as massage, pedicure, snacks, etc.

Long established business close to sea
Check in was professional and efficient. I'd paid for an individual garden villa, which was spacious with comfortable bed, tidy, large bathroom, a/c, room safe and large veranda overlooking the garden. The breakfast was a bonus. Full hot and cold buffet taken overlooking the beach. All in all a very relaxing experience at a reasonable price.

Pretty nice stay.
We stayed here for 3 nights and was satisfied with the room, restaurant and the beach. Room was clean, hot shower(for quick showers), beds very hard (like most other places in thailand), 5 min walk to city center. The thai food in the restaurant was good, nothing special but with fair prices. Overall we could come here again but dont expect too much :)

The Lamai Inn 99 has an excellent location right in the center of Lamai Beach and a very short stroll to the town center. The hotel was clean enough but getting run down. Very old bathrooms and furniture and an extremely hard bed. It was quite curious that the staff was very unfriendly and even bordering on passively angry. I would not stay there again as I think there are other places that are still relatively inexpensive but better updated and far more friendly and welcoming, as is the norm in Thailand.

Stayed in of the ocean front rooms,which was really enjoyable. the view is great,small patio in front and 2 lounge chairs as well. location ,close in town perfect,still very quiet. breakfast ok,but nothing special,only a choice between continental or american.

Bungalows are quite basic but clean. Poor Internet connection inside so often had to go out to get a decent signal. Location is quite good as close to Lamai Beach & to main street with lots of restaurants & bars around. Staff at the reception were okay & security guys were great & happy to help even if it wasn't part of their job. Quite satisfied overall but can do better.

Great resort for a relaxing getaway
Beautiful hotel right on the ocean. We stayed in a standard room which has all the basics you need except a kettle and phone (but just go to a 7/11 or family mart if you need anything). Close to the McDonalds which is a good landmark if you need to explain to a taxi driver where you are staying. Has direct access into Am Sumai Place which makes the walk to the night market or Lamai main road about 100m. Restaurant overlooks the ocean and has good food and decent prices but we ate at the night market most nights. Great massage staff on the beach at same rate as the massage parlours on the main road. Lamai has much less to do than Chaweng and the ocean is far rougher as it isn't sheltered by a sandbank or reef. Great for a relaxing holiday but if you want more markets, food or entertainment I would recommend the Chaweng area. Will still give Lamai inn five stars as they run a very good resort at very competitive rates.

We booked for 5 nights, and left after 3. Not sure what the bungalows are like, but the rooms in the building block are dark, dingy mouldy and lack basic amenities. Would it kill them to put a picture on the wall? Nice spot on the beach, if you like tons of people everywhere. THere were not enough loungers around the pool, and no towels for the beach. The tv in our room was really staticy, pretty uselessThat being said,the room had good air con, and a comfortable bed. It just wasn't inviting or very nice, kind of gave me the creeps. The people who stayed in this hotel were weird too.

On the beach without breaking the bank
Room was clean and comfortable. I slept well. Staff was very helpful. Water was fine for swimming (although it was cloudy). Bar/restaurant is a great place to sit and enjoy the roar of the ocean. Nice atmosphere. Short walk into town. Very convenient. I took songthaew between ferry and hotel (60 baht) and had no problem. Swimming pool is well-maintained.

A fine vacation - except for the flights!
I've stayed here several times before. The beach bungalows are excellent but this time I booked late and stayed in a pool view room. It was very good and in November there are days when the seas too boisterous and the pool is a better choice. The room was large and comfortable and well maintained.

lovely little complex next to beach
just had 10 days at lamai inn 99, its on a lovely stretch of the beach, has shaded spots to get out of sun if needed, nice little resteraunt next to beach, they have nice bungalow type accomodation, i stayed in standard room, which is ample for my needs, only slight critism i could add is the rooms have no natural light so a tad dark, nice pool, very close to resort center.

Overall the hotel was really good right on the beach close to all amenities. Rooms were good size with all you needed and always kept beautifully clean, our cleaner was just lovely, hotel food was always good and staff excellent.

99 bungalows is vlakbij vanalles. nette bungalow. als langere man moet ik zijwaards liggen maar dat is vrij gebruikelijk in thailand. ook egr tevreden over het restaurantje wat naast/achter de receptie zit. centrum is 100 meter vanuit de deur maar 0 last van de bars gehad
