"This was my first visit to York and the Ryedale cottages was the best place to stay while in the area. The house is lovely with comfortable beds, clean linens, and loads of games to play as a family. There are miles of walking trails and some cheeky sheep to see up the road. The view from the front of the house was beautiful and the hosts were so lovely. We arrived with a bottle of champagne in the refrigerator and a Victoria sponge on the table waiting for us. "Wonderful stay. Clean room (although strong smell of drains), very comfy bed. Great to have a bath and a separate shower. Food was amazing. Pork crackling, rump steak and seabass all cooked to absolute perfection. Cheeseboard taken to room was a great late night supper! Breakfast was superb. How they managed to get my poached egg transported up to the furthest room from the kitchen, and it still be perfectly cooked, amazes me! Every member of staff was friendly, efficient, polite and helpful. All are a credit to the Hall. Will certainly return as soon as finances allow! "
