"Reception staff are lovely and very friendly Hotel has recently been upgraded and some work is still ongoing, some more work in the garden by the lake is required. There is a lovely pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room which we luckily had complementary access to due to the ongoing works. Be aware that there is normally a charge of £20 per person/ per day Breakfast staff were a little rude and are too busy to clean plates from your table. Freshly cooked breakfast and a choice of cereal, fruit, cakes and toast"

"Beautiful. Elegant. Imposing. The hotel is a stunning place to stay. We got an upgrade room overlooking the lake. Fantastic location in Bowness-on-Windermere and a hot buffet breakfast overlooking the lake in the morning."

"This is our second visit to this hotel. It is well placed for wandering around the area and boat trips. The bedroom was spotless and bed comfy. All staff friendly and attentive. Breakfast was fresh and tasty with plenty of choice "

The only negative feedback is that the Pizzas were not very nice however all the other food was absolutely amazing so please don't take this feedback the wrong way. Restaurant compared to hotel I would have expected more, food was very average but the breakfast they serve is wonderful so doesn’t quite make sense. Rooms are wonderful and everything you need and spa bath is so relaxing. My 4th visit to hotel so always love it but Restaurant needs work."
