Lovely room with a view
lovely room with scenic view. Delicious breakfast. Further from Kilwinning then I hoped Also read about the amazing shower, but didn't have that in room 10.
Also I had to pay extra for an early check in. Which was disappointing as I was going to a funeral
Arrived late but very helpful staff and lovely food

Hotel is looking tired and would benefit from an upgrade. Improvements need to be on point or they look sloppy!
Service was good and food was excellent.
Hotel is older with no upgrades except window replacement, feels like a hotel from 1940/1950s, pretty run down. Almost couldn’t take shower in morning due to lack of water pressure and water temperature inconsistency. The hot water heat didn’t kick in until after 8:30am. Hotel owners (a couple) were very nice.
I suppose you would call it rustic but very nice. The room was, although in need of a refurbishment in some areas, very comfortable with a lovely big bed. It had everything required for a good nights stay, the staff were very friendly and we had a very good meal in the restaurant. We didn’t look around the area but there was a mill next door which I believe is open to the public. Only had porridge for breakfast so can’t really comment on that.
The food is absolutely amazing, especially the fries. You can tell a lot about a chef from his fries and these and triple cooked and perfect.
The Cajun chicken with salt and pepper fries is very very tasty and I thoroughly recommend it!
The hotel is very easy to get to and I have been staying here for the last 12 weeks without any slightest issue, only praise.
The wifi is excellent throughout the hotel with just a few low spots here and there which is to be expected with an old building.

Dalgarven House Hotel
First of all let me say that the staff were all very helpful and friendly, the food was great and downstairs very comfortable.
The reason for staying was a single night business trip to save 10 hours of driving + meeting during the single day, but, if this were required again would not be using the Dalgarven House Hotel. Unfortunately, the welcome downstairs was severely let down by the room. Although the room had everything that you'd want for a single nights stay, bed(!), en suite, tea and coffee facilities & TV each one was in need of a little attention; the four poster bed was so rickety / squeaky and needed screws tightening up to the extent that the people in the next room must have thought it was my honeymoon night every time i turned over! The mattress was so hard that I ended up using the quilt to lay on and used the cover to sleep under. The en-suite was dirty including mouldy silicon around the edges, spray from the last persons toothbrush on the wall, and what I can only think was a bogey under the tap. The tea and coffee facilities were welcome but the milk was a month out of date, so not really usable. The TV was a god size, but positioned such that the posts of the bed blocked the view no matter where you laid in the bed - it just needs moving over a foot or so.
