"Shutters is in a great central location on the Outer Banks. We stayed in two different rooms. An updated room on the third floor with a walk in shower an ocean view. The rest of the time we were on the second floor. Not updated but okay. There are a lot of different categories of rooms here. If I stayed again I would call the hotel and get an explanation of the room types. Being a first time guest it confused me. Staff was wonderful everywhere we went. I used the gym. Nice and cold. But didn’t use the pools or hot tub. I would stay again just chose a fourth floor ocean view tower room for best view."

"We had a wonderful stay at the Outer Banks Motor Lodge! From the moment we arrived, everything was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The location was convenient, and it was a great place to stay while enjoying the Outer Banks. The room was comfortable and well-kept, and the staff were friendly and helpful. You can tell they really care about their guests and want everyone to have a great experience. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend the Outer Banks Motor Lodge to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and welcoming place to stay. This was our second time staying here and We would absolutely stay here again! 🌊☀️"

"We were pretty disappointed with the breakfast. We stayed for 5 days and the same things were served every day. Most places have pancakes or waffles and there were none of that."

"The location is great. The house and room are charming. I took away a star because the curtains don't cover the sliding glass door leaving a 6 inch gap on a common area deck that looks into the bedroom! I noticed a prior guest also mentioned this in his review. Please take care of this for obvious reasons. Also, the driveway is very tight. Six units can park but only with small cars. Leave the truck at home."
