Kerobokan is a little farther up the coast of southwest Bali from Kuta and Seminyak. Kerobokan’s beaches merge with Seminyak’s and offer tourists and sun seekers a quieter place to relax than Legian. Kerobokan is noted for its good dining choices. Private villa accommodation like the Berry Amour provides a pleasing alternative to larger resort complexes in Kuta.Don’t Miss
Splash Waterpark is a fun facility in Kerobokan offering thrills for children of all ages. The Giant Racer is a 90-metre long slide with a drop the same as that from a five-floor building. Speed Racer is a model of the same slide, but smaller for younger children. Splash Playground is also a delight for youngsters. Rest areas and outlets selling tasty food ensure parents do not get bored.
Bounce Bali and Strike Ten Pin Bowling are across the road from Splash Waterpark. Echo and Pura Batu Bolong beaches on the coast of Kerobokan are okay for swimmers. Canggu Surf School is one of several such institutions with professional teachers. Dive shops operate trips to sites at locations such as Padang Bay and Nusa Penida.
Pura Batu Bolong Temple is close to the beach and said to be more than 200 years old. Pura Batu Mejan is a little inland and is a beautiful temple with sweeping roofs and ancient statues. Daytrips to South Kuta typically take in the turtle sanctuary on Serangan Island, the clifftop Puru Uluwatu Temple and the blowhole at Nusa Dua Beach.Restaurants and Bars
Food options are varied in the beach areas of Kerobokan and diners have a great choice. Balinese-style warungs and upmarket restaurants serve all the usual island dishes including lawar with chicken or pork, satay and nasi campur Bali rice. International items on the menu include Hong Kong dim-sum, sushi, burgers and Mexican burritos. Nightlife venues like Lacalita Bar y Cocina serve up cold beers and cocktails.Shopping
Shops in Kerobokan mostly sell surfing gear, beachwear and a limited range of souvenirs. These usually include hand-printed batik cloths, Buddha statues, soft dolls and locally produced jewellery. In Seminyak, the Carga centre has a better quality range of keepsakes. Among these are ceramic bowls, scented candles and rattan baskets. Outlets at Seminyak Square sell up-market clothing, accessories and shoes plus books and beauty products.
