We stayed at Kona Reef condo B33 and we could not have been happier. Its on the top floor and we had a perfect little view of a bit of a park/beach right outside. We loved listening to the waves crash. We had everything we could have needed and more. I loved that it was a little further down the road just past Huggo's so away from the busy part of downtown but easily walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. There was ample parking, we preferred to park in the covered underground to keep the car from getting too hot. And there was never a challenge to find a spot. We loved watching the sunset on the ocean with numerous others living and staying here. The entire facility was clean. I really appreciated having the washer and dryer which allowed us to not have to bring too many clothes and also go home woth fresh clothes. Not having to do a bunch of laundry when you first get home is a great treat! Laundry detergent pods were even left for us. I would absolutely return to Kona Reef and this condo again!

You have a beach right out your back door!! What a wonderful way to wake up!! Very clean and quite place to spend away. Unit was stocked with everything but spices, salt & pepper and a broom. We really enjoyed this unit!

A great property that is very conveniently located in Kona. The condo rental had everything needed and the covered parking was great. Owner was prompt in responding when there was an issue with the code to get in. A nice little beach next door although it seems to be an overnight homeless sleeping area. We didnt have any safety issues that came from that though. Would stay again if back in Kona.

This property was amazing, near beach view is something out of a commercial. I love the beach view during the day. It has everything you need when you travel with your family. Something’s do need some upgrades like the washer and dryer and the ceiling fan that was not working properly and some new curtains, but overall great stay. Parking was a breeze, they even allowed us to stay a few more hours past check out time for no extra charge. 4.5 stars.

This was our second time staying at the Kona Castle Reef . This oceanfront unit was comfortable, tidy and an excellent layout. Some of the lighting fixtures seemed dated and Could use replacement . Having the bbq’s there as an alternative cooking option was fantastic. We can’t wait to visit again next year and hopefully secure the same unit as we did this time .

Pros: Amazing views from the condo of the beach and ocean; we did not use the pool on the property, but it looked nice. Easy to walk into town. Spacious 1 bedroom with 1 bathroom. Easy to park at the property. Friendly people. Cons: Condo is in need of a refresh - damaged drywall, vent is caked with dust, screen door is off track and difficult to open/shut, kitchen is pretty well equipped, but chipped plates (one was clearly repaired with some type of glue). When we arrived, there was sand around the kitchen sink and countertop and I wondered if a critter accesses the condo because we kept finding sand on the countertop despite the sliding door and front door remaining closed.

We like that this was right beside Honl beach which we had a lovely view of. We loved where the pool was as well as it face the ocean with beautiful sunset views. The suite was big and comfortable with sufficient amenities. However one of the bifold doors was broken and completely off the hinges. I reported this but no one came to inspect or repair it. Also the bedroom had no curtains or blinds on the window and there was no sac in the bedroom either.

“Remote host” could not find our reservation. Sent wrong room number. Walked back and forth on the property WITH LUGGAGE until Hotels.com reached owner for right room. Unit needs attention. Dirty fan in bedroom, curtains torn mostly due to window installation not completed. Location of final unit was amazing but unit needs about a weeks worth of work, replace curtains and updating. See images attached.

The property and unit were very nice. Very comfortable and clean..everything you need for going to the beach was suppied in the room,except a surf board! Lol! It was a little confusing finding the condo at first. It is on the same complex as Kona Reef condos but is called Castle Kona Reef condo when I booked..It wasn't clear it was the same place. Other than that, it was a great place to stay. Onsite parking in garage was awesome!

This was a DEVASTATING experience for me and my daughter as we travelled all the way from WI and arrived to a room that was not even cleaned and disgusting. We spent our first night buying cleaning supplies and disinfecting the place, including washing the sheets, as the manager told me they could not send housekeeping until the next morning. They have promised to refund me one night stay and cleaning supplies, of which I still have not seen this refund. We wanted to stay somewhere else but last minute notice of 5 nights in Kona was difficult to find. So devastating and disappointing. DON'T STAY HERE!

Condo unit needed some maintenance before check in Bedside lampshade broken and left ( with pieces) in bedroom . Louvre doors enclosing laundry machines broken and wooden slats left laying inside the Cupboard .Parking pass was to be left in unit for new customer but no parking pass was found. We ended up writing our info on a piece of paper and placing that on the dashboard .

I was very disappointed in the unit we booked. The resort was beautiful, and well maintained. The unit we stayed in was filthy. It was very out dated. The air conditioning unit was in the living room, but the air didn't make it back to the bedroom, which made for very uncomfortable sleeping. There was a hide a bed in the living room, but it was broken so we couldn't sleep on it, and really just a piece of crap. The matress pad that was on the matress had several pee stains on it. The recliner in the living room was broken, so it didn't recline, and it had a horrible odor. My wife had to clean the bathtub because there was soap scum, and as she put it, absolutely gross. The only good thing about this place was the location, and the view. Very central to most places. You could walk to the shop's and restaurants. The patio outside our unit had a beautiful view of the water, and right next to a very small beach. If it weren't for these two things things, location, and the resort itself, i would give this place a below 1 rating if there was one. It was clearly not taken care of, and the owner obviously doesn't care!!
