"Very traditional Ryokan experience, with the Tatami floors and Kaiseki meals.
Staff is very attentive.
This is not a traditional "luxury resort" (don't expect service and standards of a four seasons or ritz carlton hotel). Rooms felt a bit antiquated, but I think this added to the charm of the hotel as it positions itself as a place to have a more traditional Japanese experience.
It is about a 10-minute drive from the main town on the island, so it is a bit out of the way. If you want to be close to the action / shrines on the island, this probably isn't the hotel for you. If you want something super quiet and private, this is a good fit."
"Staff were very professional and helpful. Best service we have received in Japan. Proximity to the shrine was excellent. The keiseki dinner was fabulous. "
HOTEL FORK & KNIFE Miyajima - Opening in Mar 28th 2026
10/10 Excellent
"No ocean view from my room, but this place is absolutely fantastic, and brand new. It is NOT on the island - be aware - and it is a 10-minute walk or more to the ferry. We did not make a reservation for dinner, so we missed out (I'm sure it was amazing) but our breakfast the next morning was out of this world. We did the American-fusion breakfast (it was not very American, but my gosh was it great). Absolutley loved the hotel."
"It was a wide traditional tadami room.
The wash stand is too short for us (I am 174 cm tall and my wife is 166 cm tall).
Except that, traditional Japanese gaisheki dinner and breakfast were excellent. Especially, the miso soup with clam at breakfast was great, the best taste that we experienced during the Hiroshima trip. "
"Beaucoup trop cher pour une chambre
Seulement la chambre sans déjeuner ni souper pour 775$ cad beaucoup trop
Too much expensive without breakfast and dinner
If we have a breakfast it will be better"
"There I free shuttle from the train station to hotel which was helpful because we had to walk one night because we arrived past the time. It’s not too far. It’s close to the JR west terminal to get to Miyajima. We didn’t utilize the bath because we had tattoos so can’t say. But liked the amenities bar and had kid la shampoo and body wash available. But didn’t see much families though. Was a nice location."
"In room onset with a view over looking the ocean!! This hotel was a highlight of our trip to Japan. We had the in room dinning experience which was beyond expectations. Food quality and presentation were excellent. Accommodations and amenities exceeded expectation's. "
