"Good value for the area. Directly across from two quiet public beach areas. (Bring swim shoes for all beaches). Onsite restaurant was good. Pool area quiet most days."

"The room was like a fantasy - second floor balcony facing the ocean. Amazing!! The air conditioning did not work well, but we requested a fan and that helped. The staff was very kind, friendly & down to earth. The food was fantastic! All inclusive and we upgraded to the Sun Club, so worth it. Exclusive club room, beach and pools. Five star treatment. There were five restaurants and bars - food and drinks ready and available all day long, all included - NO WRIST BANDS. Truly a Paradise. Free snorkeling, kayaking and breathtaking beaches. Live music, fun games and sports throughout the premises - very engaging and laid back at the same time. We went for our Honeymoon, and I could not have chosen a better more romantic place in the Caribbean. Wonderful stay - ready to move to Curacoa! Breathtaking spa and spa treatment. Would recommend Sunscape for anyone and EVERYONE. Single, Family & definitely couple friendly. One of the Best travel experiences of my life. Dream come true. The attached casino needs to be seriously upgraded & better staffed- other than that- Sunscape Hotel is a Marvelous getaway."

Avila Beach Hotel

"First solo trip I've ever taken. Went Tuesday-Friday. Was looking quiet and relaxed, and that's exactly what Avila was. The lagoon was beautiful. Food in both restaurants was good. I considered a meal plan but didn't need it. If you eat three whole meals a day, then maybe worth it. One thing, not a complaint though, I was waiting for wait staff to come around and take a drink order on the beach but couldn't find any. The QR code to order food/drink only worked if you had a credit card handy, couldn't charge to the room, so I wound up just having to walk back and forth to the bar. If you're looking for weeknight nightlife, you might have to go off-resort. Weekends, there's live music I think. Overall, I'd go back, but not solo again. Too much quiet for me."
