The beaches in the area are not amazing (although are very nice at high tide), but that said the hotel itself is enough of a destination to make it perfect for an extended stay. The staff is amazing and very attentive. The hotels amenities itself are far beyond the 3 star standard listed, especially given the local standards. Really stands out against all the local experiences. "

Beach access was great and the view from our room was stunning. It was a great place to relax after climbing Kilimanjaro! Only issue was limited range of food, particularly for vegetarians. "

The sunrises and sunsets were absolutely breathtaking some of the most beautiful moments I experienced in Zanzibar. One of the highlights of my stay was requesting an off-menu dish: ugali. The chef personally came out to ask how I liked the meal, which turned out to be the most delicious food I’ve had since arriving in Tanzania. My time in Zanzibar and especially at Blue Reef was pure magic. I’m beyond grateful for the warmth, hospitality, and unforgettable memories, and I cannot wait to return with my family."

"Staff were courteous and friendly. Breakfast was a little sparse but the location and outdoor facilities were great. I stayed in a room facing the ocean. Fantastic. Much better than a pool room. Should note that this hotel will not refund cancellations even though their policy says so. Beware. "

"The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable. The venue is beautiful with a chilled vibe. The breakfast was big, although the same every day. Be careful with the pool. It is made of concrete and damages the clothing and the greenery around the pool although beautiful it leaves your swimsuit with yellow stains. The restaurant is overpriced, but the staff is nice. Close to the hotel there are other restaurants which one can visit with better prices"
