"I really loved this retro hotel on top of the mountainside. I had the mysterious looking onsen all to myself several times around 9-10 pm and it was so cool. The view is amazing and the food was very good. Just know that you are really in the countryside and to get to Onomichi it is going to take at least an hour using public transit. "If you love the idea of staying in a traditional Japanese house, this place is for you. Very clean and quiet. Nice to have access to a kitchen. The host was very warm and friendly. Close to the port, market and delicious restaurants. We were very happy with our stay. "

"My daughter and I traveled to Japan for two weeks and stayed here in the middle of a 70K Shimanami Bike trip. I wish so much we'd booked an additional night. Of the seven hotels/ryokans we stayed during our trip, this was heads above all the others. The rooms were beautifully decorated and spacious and the ryokan was quite peaceful. The staff was wonderful- helpful and attentive. If I'm ever lucky enough to return to Japan and visit this area again, I'll return to this lovely property."
