We have been traveling with Peru Hop and stayed here one night. The staff was great: super friendly, helpful, and definitely went above & beyond to accommodate me and my 7 year old son who had gotten sick from lunch on the way there. The rooms were overpriced for what we got, and I was disappointed at first, but after spending the day in huacachina I feel like they’re all probably the same, unless you pay more. We paid $30-ish for the night, which seems exorbitant considering what that will get you elsewhere, but it’s a little party tourist town so prices were just higher. The sandboarding was definitely worth it (we didn’t go through the hotel because it came with our bus trip, but they do offer it). I opted for this place over the others because of the “indoor jacuzzi pool” because it’s not that warm right now during the day and we were arriving late, but it’s not actually indoors (it’s in a little courtyard area) and I wouldn’t let my son swim in it. So if pool is important to you, this is not your place. But knowing what I know now, I’d still stay there and save the extra $20 for things like overpriced boat rentals on the lake and sandboarding/dune buggy trips. The staff definitely made up for the less than amazing rooms. But they do have hot showers, bug nets that we didn’t need, and direct tv (en español), if that matters to you. It’s right on the lake, and it looks like they’re adding a 3rd floor, so maybe the new rooms will be a little nicer. Basic breakfast included.
