Lovely simple room. Great view. Good hot tub. Lovely staff. Fab breakfast

This is a unique and lovely hotel in a remote part of the south of Iceland. The rooms have a cabin-feel and there are outdoor hot tubs. Great for exploring the south coast and being rural enough to give you a good chance of seeing the northern lights. Good breakfast where you can help yourself to the buffet and/or order off the menu (only 3 items though - omelettes, fry-up or porridge). Would have been nice to have scrambled egg as an option or pancakes. Breakfast is served 7-10am and usually...

Lovely stay on an equestrian centre. The guesthouse was clean and comfortable with an enormous upstairs sitting room with tea and coffee available. Breakfast was adequate but convenient. It was lovely to see the Icelandic horses outside the window and to be able to visit the stables to meet them up close.

Our travels to Vik was disrupted by extreme weathers and road closures. We had to book accommodation last minute. We booked Hotel Fljotshlid and was not disappointed, amazing location, great staff! The rooms were clean and warm. We even managed to see the Northern lights from our bedroom! Incredible experience.

Room was amazing. Probably the best room I’ve stayed in on my holiday and I’ve stayed in a few. Very clean place, comfy bed and loved the sheets, shower was lush, good hairdryer available, extremely spacious with a sitting area and big TV, helpful staff, plenty of room for parking and a great, quiet breakfast with plenty of options. Only downside for me was they had everything but a kettle yet supplied teabags with a picture of a kettle on the back of the packet. Of course not a big deal but...

Great place to stay if you want to be in the country side and explore things close by. Staff was great. The person (forgot his name) in the reception/kitchen in the evenings is really helpful and cooks great too. Man with many talent.

Cosy chalets. Friendly staff. Nice views. Would recommend.

A must stay, we stayed here during a tour of the south and out of the five places we stayed this was by far our favourite. It is clean, comfortable with a fantastic location and very warm hosts.

Friendly staff, lovely hotel, beautiful hot pool and sauna, highly recommended!

Beautiful interior, excellent communication. The facilities were excellent and the small touches really made this property stand out. Would return for the views alone but the apartment made the experience even better. What a great find!!!

Friendly staff. Lovely setting. Delicious food.

Combining wilderness and luxury, you couldn’t feel cosier inside the small hotel with views ready to strike wonder at every turn. Part industrial hipster warehouse with cement, part luxurious soft furnished grandeur, part nordic chic, you can firmly sink into comfort while the wilderness sweeps over you with breathtaking power. Drink matcha ginger green smoothies and a hot breakfast whilst a blizzard sends storms of snow barrelling past the ten foot glass around you, or the sun rises on the...

Really great hotel, perfect spot to see the Aurora. A little out of the way and not close to any restaurants but that’s what makes it a good spot for the Aurora because of a lack of light pollution. The hotel restaurant is good.

Overall it is a comfortable and cozy place to stay, it will be appreciated if the breakfast can be served earlier than 8:00.

The most gorgeous stay of our entire Iceland trip. Excellent hearty breakfast. The 2 bedroom cottage has everything one can ask for. Absolutely secluded as well for a brilliant Aurora viewing.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is currently being renovated (restaurant is closed so breakfast is in another hotel 10 minutes walk away) and my room felt like it had been rushed. The bathroom ceiling wasn't finished properly (grout missing from around the tiles and badly painted), there wasn't a night stand next to the bed, had two single duvets instead of one double. Just little things that they should do better for £200+ per night.
