Not worth the price
We were in the area for 3 days visiting family. We had been at Twin Lakes years ago for events in the restaurant (closed) but had never stayed there. The weekend we were arrived was apparently very busy locally: leaf peeping, Fall weddings in the Catskills, a wool & sheep show, ..... The places we stayed in the past were all booked so we found this on Hotels.com and decided to try it. First, the Staff, Barbara & Steve, are VERY friendly and helpful. The room ended up being a cabin w/ a small kitchen (which we didn't need). It is very old but there were new curtains, new bed spread, relatively new paint, etc. BUT is is old and it shows. The front door sill is falling out because of wood rot, the inside of the refrigerator is spotless but the outside is all rusty. The mattress was soft and bouncy. On the 2nd afternoon and evening I disposed of 27 stink bugs (flushed). Apparently they are an issue in the area but with torn screens & leaky windows they came in for the warmth (they don't hurt you but who wants bugs everywhere). The bathroom is akin to a cruise ship. Don't drop the soap in the shower because you need to get out to bend over and get it. The nearest place to get coffee and breakfast is ~ 5 miles away in Kingston. Bottom line, we paid $153 a night, I had a new king bed / 2 room suite w/ breakfast today in Salem VA for $106. IMHO way too expensive for what it is. BTW, the grounds are nice with a pool, bocce, picnic tables, a lake, etc. but we didn't use these.

Low level of comfort, not modern and I would not recommend to stay more then one night (every camping place in Europe is much better). Internet access is not working in the room .... only at the main building!

Pleasantly surprised!
We had a cabin with kitchen and queen bed. Although the property is older, it is very clean and well maintained. The service was very accommodating and even called us to let us know we could check in much earlier. The grounds are nice and they would be good for family reunions, get togethers and even weddings. There is a pretty gazebo and a covered pavilion with tables, chairs and gas grills.

I was so excited to discover my own little cabin after a very long drive. Upon waking after checking in late I was so in love with the nearby lake. If you have a dog, please make sure to let them know when you make an expedia reservation as the have god designated rooms and I didn't realize this. They also require a $50 pet fee per dog. I was very happy I was able to find a place that gave shelter to me and my two dogs as pet friendly hotels are hard to find. I can't wait to come back and stay again! I had so much fun. Please make sure you bring your food. There isn't a hotel store on the grounds so you will have to go out for food. There also wasn't a fridge so try to bring non perishable items or a cooler. I just stayed solo for the weekend but I bet it would be so much fun to have a wedding there. They have everything a wedding would need.

Do not recommend.
Room was filled with bugs when we first got there. We killed at least 10. No ice- ice machine was nroken. We were promised by staff that we would get it but never came. There was a porch in front of the room but the chairs were dirty. Shower was tiny and each person had to wait at least 20 minutes for hot water. Glad we only stayed one night. Unfortunately I wished we could have found another place but this was a last minute reservation on a holiday weekend to attend a funeral.

Perfect for a weekend getaway
The place is perfect for a weekend getaway. It's close to many great hiking spots. It's a 5 min drive to the town center. As what the name of the lodge indicates, we literately lived next to 2 lakes. The place is simply serene. The owner and manager are very friendly. He gave us suggestions on where to hike / visit when we arrived. We will definitely come back again!

Heart shaped tub was a hilarious surprise for my fiance, and it was sparkling clean, and water actually stayed hot to fill the tub. Water was sulfuric though and we needed to request bottled water to drink.

This is our second stay @ Twin Lakes. Last year we had the house and it fit our needs 100% for 3 families. This year we had cabin # 7. Nice porch, beautiful view of the lake. I reconnected the sink drain. The hot water was enough for one shower at a time. Several slats were missing from the blind. A small Micro wave would've been nice. Other than that we enjoyed our stay there. I grew up near there so I love the area.

Basic bed in a cabin
it was what we expected, a row of tiny cabins with a bed, tv and tiny bathroom. nothing fancy or updated, but good for a nights sleep. what we were not expecting was the overwhelming sulfur smell from the water. just running the tap in the sink , or flushing the toilet, it was making us gag. showering was not an option. we've stayed in several places with sulfur water before, we know it isn't "bad" to use, but maybe because it was trapped in such a tiny space, it was just too much. also, the temp dropped to 45 overnight and the giant propane heater in the room wasn't hooked up.

Nice hotel close to the one lake
We got to the hotel early. The first thing we noticed was the tv didn't work properly. In about 5 minutes the manager had it working. We walked to the one lake and watched kayakers for awhile. It was wuiet and peaceful.

The cabin was a little basic but totally serviceable. Room was clean. Hot water ran low when people showered back to back. But the setting can't be beat and the staff were super nice! Good value, too.

Good for people looking extra quiet place
The place is really quiet and super nice for whoever needs a super quiet place this is the perfect one! Only thing call before the arrival and for the right address, the one the map gives you is wrong and signal is suuuuper poor in the area. Barbara and Steve were great in making me feel super confortable in this place, the room was really clean and ready for my arrival, also if you need fridge please request it in advance, Barbara will make sure you get it. In escense, opposite to few reviews the room was clean and the place is great. Just keep on mind that is in the middle of the country! Bring repelen and cash to order food.

not the best, certainly not the worst, very dated
it was a classic case where the pictures looked much better than actually being there. the shower was leaking and very short (I'm only 5'10"), and you could barely turn around. the room was very dated, but we were only there to sleep, the bed was hard as a rock. the surrounding area is very pretty, if they put some money into the rooms, this place would be a gem.

Location and view was beautiful
After almost an hour if driving around we fiund the place as the adress on here is not correct. Our first night we went to go to bed and noticed what looked like blood on the quilt so we replaced the bedding. When you used the bathroom your knees touched the wall in front of you and no hot water after one shower. I attempted to talk to staff but they didnt return calls that were left and were never in office. The second night i woke up with what we think are spider bites. We ended up. Hecking out early and they have yet to refund our $. They are more focused on the weddings than the up keep of the cabins.

It could have been better.
When we first entered the room, we had to get rid of all the bugs. There was a beatle, a spider and nats in the bed, and ants in the bathroom. The air conditioner didn't cool the first night. But, customer service was good.

Twin Lakes did not live up to its description: I found but one lake, and its access walkway was a major mess. It definitely seemed that the hospitality season didn't open there yet, as no one was at the office to greet us, just a note to call a number, despite there being almost no cell phone reception at all.definitelt overpriced, even if it were half off.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend. The grounds are absolutely stunning! We hiked in the woods, sat by the lake and enjoyed the many trails that are on the property. The room was small but cozy. The queen size bed was a bit small for both of us but the room had a nice TV and a huge heart shaped tub. There is parking right in front of the room which is convenient. Draw backs were the water temp is fussy and the pipes which run between the rooms can be loud. Also there was no bonfire while we were here. I read several other reviews which said they do a bonfire quite often so I was looking forward to one with the chilly weather.

We ignored other reports about bugs -- we experienced bugs ourselves; left after one night. Terrible experience: very poor value for the money: 1. Bugs 2. Door difficult to open and close -- really stuck 3. Suite consisted of bed, small table with 2 upholstered chairs with collapsed seats -- no table light; Kitchenette had sink, stove, refrigerator with reversed doors: no sink or stove light; no fan for stove. Minimal equipment: coffee pot and toaster. 4. No headboard for bed: if you sit up to read you must prop yourself up with meager pillows and lean against the window curtain wondering how many other heads have leaned against this strange green fabric. 5. Be sure not to walk barefoot on the floor. Carpeting of dubious age and cleanliness. 6. Bathroom tiny. 2 out of 3 bulbs worked over the vanity. Tiny Shower.Trickle down shower head. No space for an adult to turn around. 7. Parking was on the grass between our cabin and the adjacent cabin. 8. Really weak wifi signal. Tried to reboot the wifi device by unplugging and restarting -- lost the TV reception: tried to call owner/proprietor for assistance since there was no one in the office at night and discovered there was no cell phone reception (we have Verizon.)

Rooms need some updating which we were told was going to happen. Staff was so very friendly and accommodating. They gave great recommendations on restaurants and events in area to see. Property is very quiet and conducive to relaxing with hiking trails.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Quiet and lovely surroundings. first time to the area so we were out of the hotel much of the time. Would stay there again. looking forward to the upcoming additions to the facilities. surprised to see the heart shaped tub!!

Pictures on internet do not represent the actual room. Heater did not work the first night, was fixed the next night but there was an electric smell and switched off during the night. Cabin was in bad shape, at least the grounds were nice.

Seculsuon and relaxation
Wonderful stay! Easy access from NYC but feels like a world away. Loved having our own cabin in the woods. Hiking and a lake with boat access is right by your cabin. The innkeeper was great because she explained the areas sights and restaurants. Loved the bonfire at night too. Seclusion and relaxation at its best!

Quaint tourist cabins in an out of the way place.
We stayed in a tourist cabin, probably updated 15 years ago, and ready for another. It was high tourist season, so pricey. Quiet out of the way place, apparently popular for wedding parties.

Ugh, just simply Ugh!
The Lodge called me twice, asking what time we would arrive (called at 10:00am and 4:55pm). In the latter call said I had to be there by 5:30 as she was leaving for the day. What the heck!!!!!! Place smelled of must and mold. Spiders in the room. Never again! UGH!
