Huizen has a long history as a fishing village. It owes its name to the fact that it was the first place with stone houses (huizen is the Dutch word for houses). Sit outside on Zomerkade in the summer and go out for dinner in the evening. Huizen is in the middle of beautiful countryside, perfect for bicycle tours and long walks.
