"Hidden costs and zero support. The hotel is okay, and the location is good, but the booking experience was a nightmare. Hotels.com showed an incorrect price, and I ended up paying more at check-in. Don't expect any help from their team, they never answer emails. Save yourself the headache and the money, book elsewhere."

"This is a difficult review to write because we LOVED our apartment! Until... The location of the apartment cannot be beat! It is in the heart of Hilversum with church bells, shops, restaurants all within a minute's walk. No cars are allowed on the Kerkstraat. The restaurant across the street has a large area of outdoor tables/chairs for meals/coffee/wine at most times of the day. It created a wonderful atmosphere of local hospitality! Problem: it is listed under "Hotels.com," but it was an Airbnb. We were told that we would have housekeeping on Wednesday if our stay was more than 7 days. We left for our day's activities on the Wednesday (we had checked in on the Saturday before), fully expecting the rooms to be cleaned and fresh linens/towels provided. This did not happen! When I contacted the management, they said, "You have to have stayed for over one week. At THAT point, the following Wednesday is when you receive housekeeping!" Ridiculous! We each had one bath towel and a hand towel to last for our 8-day stay! We asked about receiving more coffee pods, toilet paper; paper towels. The reply was that these were simply a courtesy and we were responsible for purchasing more. We had to buy these PLUS detergent since we washed our own towels. We reported that the oven in my sister's adjacent was not working. This was never addressed. So, if want to experience Hilversum at its finest, stay here. But, do NOT expect any kind of hotel experience. Very disappointing service."

"This hotel will be our new home from home. We tried different hotels in the area in the past. It is elegant, clean, great staff, and a lovely restaurant downstairs. We stayed in Unit 10, which has a loft with a beautiful bathtub and high ceilings. The double head shower was fantastic as well. We seriously don't have anything bad to say about this hotel and highly recommend it. If you are worried about the lack of a receptionist desk, which I was, don't be! The door keys will be on my our phone before you arrive. If you have any concerns you just go down to the restaurant, tell any staff member, and it's resolved immediately. Great service."

"The NH Bussum Jan Tabak is a comfortable and quiet hotel set in a peaceful area. The rooms and facilities are clean, though the decor feels a bit dated. One of the highlights is the calm atmosphere, great for a good night’s sleep and the bed was very comfortable. There is plenty of parking available, which is convenient if you’re traveling by car. The lobby is pleasant, and the piano bar adds a nice touch for a relaxed evening drink. Overall, a solid and comfortable stay, especially if you value quiet surroundings and convenience."
