This hairpin bend in the Colorado River is celebrated for its exceptional views and its proximity to some of the region’s beautiful slot canyons.

Horseshoe Bend is a famous U-shaped meandering of the Colorado River. Take a short hike to the observation area or view Horseshoe Bend from above on an air tour. At about 1.5 miles long (2.4 kilometers), the walk from Horseshoe Bend’s parking lot to the overlook area is suitable for most fitness levels however, the return walk is mostly uphill. Be sure to wear decent hiking footwear.
