Only problem we booked a delux room with garden view and when we got there we were in a Shepherds hut. Expedia didnt tell us this.
However the Shepherds hut was beautiful but not everyone would be able to use the Shepherds hut due to mobility problems. So just be ware when you book and maybe check with the property direct which room is booked
For you.
Staff are so helpful and friendly and food is wonderful. Will visit again.
Staff were incredible, bed was comfy. Only issue was the shower did not get hot. You would have the odd 30sec blast and then would go luke warm again. Which after a day out and about outside was not ideal so I was left cold and had to layer up in clothes and in the bed until the heating kicked in from turning on the radiators.
Room was clean and tidy, bed comfortable. The food was very good. I suggest you try the scallops with black pudding - excellent. Location is good. Short walk to Hathersage where plenty of amenities. This is the second time we have stayed at the Plough Inn.
Great room and pub and surrounding areas for walking.Lovely little centre with a buzz around .Evening meal roast beef one of the best roasts we had ever had and breakfast excellent too will definitely revisit this place again .
The plough inn was a hidden gem, we loved it! The staff were wonderful especially the lady on breakfast, breakfast was lovely and service with a smile! Close to Hathersage centre with some lovely pubs, we would definitely return, close drive to Castleton too for Mam tor.
A wonderful stay during a freezing cold January weekend. We were concerned that we would be cold at night in our shepherds hut but how wrong we were. The hut was clean, cosy and had everything we needed. The meals were delicious and all staff were friendly and helpful.
We stayed in one of the shepherds hut & it was beautifully done. Ideal with a dog too as set in grounds of the pub. Close to many good walks. All food was amazing, especially the cooked breakfast! Very friendly staff. Will definitely return.
Fabulous night away with friends. 3 of us shared the family room, plenty of space. Food was tasty with lots of choice. An amazing setting with a choice of outdoor seating areas. Very helpful staff. We’re booking again for another stay!
Really great place! Nice quiet location, decent rooms, lovely food and fantastic customer service! I wish I was staying more than the one night! My only gripe - due to the rural location, the TV reception wasn't good and picture quality poor but it's a minor issue. Overall I loved it! Recommended.
This place is a real gem!! I stayed in one of the shepherd's huts and it was the most comfortable and cosy stay I've had anywhere in a long time. The staff (it's an independent family run business) were just fabulous! I stayed in a lot because I had work to catch up with but this place would be great for walking, exploring or just relaxing. The food is amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Quite rightly deserves an exceptional rating!!
Great few nights in a shepherd’s hut at The Plough. Very cosy, super clean with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Food and drinks at the Plough were excellent, with a lovely selection at breakfast and everything very well made and nicely served. Great location for walks and activities.
