"Kitchen and floors were not clean at all. Food still stuck to cutlery and dirty glasses. Grubby work tops. Lots of cobwebs in the house, which is due to lack of cleaning. Bed & bathroom were clean enough. No mirrors in any of the rooms, we had to share 1 mirror in the landing between 5 girls which isn’t that great. To be honest if you’re not overly fussy or care where you stay it’s a great location and quiet village. "

"Car park a treck if you have items to carry. Digital key code would not work setting alarm off. Told to wait 45 mins for someone to come and re set until she remembered emergency key in cupboard in hallway. Flat lovely inside however bathroom lock was broken and no cold water coming through the shower scalding us. Reported but nonresponse. Fans on and off from building next door. When going out in the morning seeing the entrance in daylight was horrible. Bins and just not a safe looking place....

"Had a lovely stay at Windsor cottage. Well presented, great amenities and the most comfortable bed in the master bedroom. Slept like a log! Ate out in local restaurants, which were lovely especially Alberto’s Italy. There are a couple of free parking areas in town 5-10 minutes away. During our stay there was a film set in place for Father Brown and a restriction at the end of the road. It didn’t take away from our stay, but was glad of the premier inn parking just a 100m away. "This stay at Blackthorn went above and beyond what I needed - some time and space for myself to write. In the comfort and peace of this hut in this location, I was able to write nearly 10,000 words, unheard of in my everyday busy life at home! "Good service. Clean room on arrival but no effort to clean during stay. Just clean towels left. Dinner good but limited menu. Breakfast excellent. Lots of choice and good quality. Didnt like coffee in flask. It became bitter over time. On arrival there was a beautiful birthday cake for my partner"

"This was the third hotel we stayed at in Oxford, and it was by far the best. From the moment we arrived, with a clearly marked parking space ready for us, the service was attentive and helpful throughout our brief stay. The interior décor blends classic elegance with modern touches, including some beautiful contemporary paintings. Our room had a wonderfully comfortable bed, a well-equipped bathroom, and a breathtaking view over the High Street and the University Church of St Mary the Virgin. If it weren’t for the modern traffic below, it would have felt like stepping back in time. While it was windy and dark outside, the hotel’s warm, peaceful atmosphere made us feel instantly relaxed. Breakfast in The Quad Restaurant was excellent – a perfect way to start the day. A truly great hotel that we would be happy to return to. "

"I had the most wonderful room in the old part of the building. Warm and spacious, comfy bed, lovely seating and dressing area, clean bathroom with a lovely shower! I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious. Quick and easy walk over the lovely river to the RSC and Stratford. Parking on site is easy but limited, but there is plenty of parking nearby. The best thing was the friendliness and helpfulness of every member of staff that we spoke to. From welcome to departure all the staff couldn't do enough to help! Wonderful place!"
