"We stayed in several beautiful hotels so far, but this was the best place we kept talking about afterwards.
The location is extraordinary. During the day, Higashi Chaya is one of Kanazawa’s most visited areas, but early in the morning and after the crowds leave, it becomes quiet and almost completely different. Being able to step outside our own machiya and experience the district at those hours felt incredibly special.
The house itself is beautifully considered. It still feels unmistakably...
"Amazing stay - couldn’t recommend more. The staff are incredibly attentive and helpful, the hotel is set in a beautiful location and the entire experience is flawless. The food is excellent as well, although it’s worth noting that both the dinner and breakfast are very generous meals - best not to eat too much beforehand!
Thank you so much to all of the staff - we had a wonderful time with you and hope to see you again soon!"
"A very well located hotel with a spacious room and helpful reception staff. However, the accommodation could have been made more comfortable by providing some basics, like coffee, tea and sugar"
"Delightful hotel, not easy to find though, just know its along the river! Very old fashioned but superbly maintained and its part of the charm. Onsen was fabulous, staff were all ultra accommodating. Organised a massage in my room, incredible. Shout out to Yoko, who looked after me at mealtimes, shes a star!"
