"Great location--an easy walk to the beach. But it's a big city, and there's a busy road between the beach and the hotel...so lots of night noise, sirens, people partying. Also, there were events, weddings, luaus directly below our room until about 9am most nights--so no resting from that noise until late (we were on the 16th floor, but noise perfectly carries). Also, the elevators are inadequate for the number of people needing to use it. Many times there were 16+ of us crammed into one because no one wanted to wait another 10 minutes for the next one. Not fun. The room was clean, but the wallpaper was peeling from moisture, and painted sheetrock of some walls had unsightly cut marks all over. The wood counter was chipped. Very basic, and definitely in need of a makeover -- for the "resort fee" paid, the room itself didn't feel resort-like. But some of that is forgiven for the great location, and the nice communal areas. Also, I really enjoyed the easy access to the beach. Their own luau was also wonderful, and the buffet was excellent (though pricey). The views from the ocean front room were spectacular (but tiny porch). I'm on the fence if I'd return."

"Not 5 star by any means. Rooms were nice (basic). Shower drips 24x7, toilet flush is so dramatic it can wake everyone on the floor, doors are so heavy that you cant sneak out of a room without a huge 'clunk'. If its windy, there is no Breakfast restaurant, as the Swell Bar becomes uncomfortable to remain at. Not enough pool recliners (we went to the pool 4x during our stay and never once managed to grab a seat, there's no monitoring of people who have towels on the chairs but are not actually at the pool). Pro's: Great location. Comfy beds."

"The unit was very clean and we loved that there was a washer and dryer in the unit. The kitchen was clean and everything worked perfectly. I loved having a full sized fridge! I don't know how the staff remembered us every time we came and went - they were very friendly and helpful. The amenties fee is a great deal if you use the majority of things available under the amenties fee - check what's included because maybe that changes. The location was perfect for us since we were constantly going to Kaneohe and Aiea and Kaimuki and Kalihi AND walking around downtown. Maybe parking was included at the time I booked, but for my actual stay around a month later, it was not included - I'll be more careful next time. Would love to stay here next time!"
