"Unfortunately tainted as the room we stayed in smelt of cigarettes and don’t blame the smoker for opening up the window and having a cheeky smoke as we we were soooo far away from reception we had to take Kendal mint cake for the hike and phone had no signal or idea called an uber lol This was valentines night and a treat for my partner which turned out to be the beginning of the end of 4 year relationship ! March now and single ! My own fault but partly blame the lazy smoker ( don’t really ) Other than the points I’ve mentioned HANDS DOWN best hotel in Eastbourne ! I just won’t be needing. It again :( "

"The staff were lovely and the food was great. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was wonderful and clean but the room was far too hot because it was next to the main working fireplace of the hotel. We had to have the window open the whole time to cool down, (but didn’t make too much difference in temperature) and then smoke from the chimney came into the room."

"Staff went over and above to be helpful. Hotel was very old and quirky. Lots of character and charm. The broken radiator in my room was sorted out successfully. The toilet in the room did not flush terribly well and the shower low pressure. Lovely lounges to sit in and the restaurant was very attractive. We had a good breakfast."

"Room looking our to sea beautiful. Only complaint was that it was lovely to be offered a free glass of wine but no alternative offered for those of us who do not drink. Well done apart from that."
