An excellent hotel in the wrong position.
An excellent hotel with staff who couldn’t do enough for you.Rooms were very clean.The only thing that spoilt it for us was the position down a dirty dark alley.What made it worse was it rained heavily when we were there so water dripped from all the rooftops.Going for breakfast at the sister hotel was like an obstacle course.Difficult to find on arrival as no visible signs.

Good location
Staffs were really really nice,friendly and helpful especially the bell boy. Reasonable price. Location was good but have to walk through dark alley. Room was quite small. Towels were old and dirty. Bathroom needs to be renovated. Water heater didn’t work well,water was cold and very hot alternative every 30secs.

Highly recommended!
Stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely love it!! Staff are very enthusiastic and helpful. The hotel is strategically located in the old quarter and it's convenient to walk to key sightseeing areas. It's quiet especially during the weekend as motorbikes are not allowed in the old quarter after 7pm.

small rooms but good service.
central of all area. within minutes to the lake and church. many shopping around there and the staff is nice. i booked 6 rooms and request for all single bed but they only gave 3 rooms with single bed. and 1 of the room toilet is broken. how possible they sell the room completely no door? room is really small. the only mirror is in the toilet which is small. but advantage there a lift which is a bonus. breakfast in sister hotel near by.

Good location. We stayed here for 1 night in an executive room before going on a cruise in Ha Long Bay. The executive room was bigger and had a better bathroom with a shower with walls. After the cruise, only a “suite” on the top floor was available, so we paid extra money and the room is not at all as accommodating as the executive room. It’s smaller, with a bathtub and no curtain. The bathtub leaks all over the floor and the water is extremely hot or extremely cold, there is no middle ground. When I called to reception to tell him this, he sent a non-English speaker directly to my room, although I asked for a few minutes in order to get dressed. Then the bellhop proceeded to show me how to work a faucet, and then called up his superior who also told me how to use a faucet. And when I asked about the leaking, all they did was clean it up with extra towels and left them soaking on the ground. The second experience has been terrible and I will not be coming back.

STAY AWAY!!! we did not even stay here and asked to leave as the images were different than reality. Dirty area in a dark alley with urine smell and drunk people. The hotel didnt want to give us any refund or anything for that scam.

Stay away!! We left the hotel even though we paid! Its not like in the pictures, everything is x4 smaller, the area smells from urine and is in a dark Halley with drunk people around. The staff didn't offer any compensation for this online scam. lost money.

We didn't actually stay in the Cristina, they were either full or didn't have our booking. We were moved to their sister hotel, the Viola Royal, which was, I think, a bit nicer. The only comments I can make about the Cristina are that they didn't have our booking and that the entrance is down a fairly dingy alley. My review ratings are for the Viola

I found a lot of cockroaches in the toilet on my first day, I asked them to clean the room, and make everything to be sure there were no more there, however, the night when I come back I found more now close to the bed, it was so horrible, I just came back from my daily tour, with energy to start booking or change of hotel, I asked them to change the room, and their answer that they have no room available, I was travelling solo, and the next day I needed to wake up early, so I didn't have too more option than stay there, also the place is located close to the main touristic place, but in a really dark alley. After I came back to Hanoi, and staid in a much better place than this for almost the same money, there are plenty of better accommodation places for around the same money than this.

Great location and the rooms are clean and well equipped. The staff made us feel so welcome here and are the true champions of this place; I highly recommend this hotel or their sister hotel the Viola Royal Hotel.

Great hospitality and friendly staff
It was amazing and worth a stay. Although the location at a small alley but it's so convenient to everywhere.The staff was friendly and greet us everytime we went in and out. The staff even waiting with us at the roadside while we waiting for taxi. Love their hospitality. Also, they upgraded my room to a bigger one with bathtub. The breakfast was located at another hotel called Royal hotel. It's just a few steps away. Love it. Highly recommended.

Not bad but small rooms and not in best conditions
The service is wonderful. The staff really tried to please. The breakfast was also good. The only drawback is the size and condition of the rooms (we booked 3 rooms). We were told that the room is between 23 to 25 sqm but it looks more like 16-18 sqm. It looks worse than the pictures during booking. So, manage your expectations.

Great play to stay, even for just one night in Hanoi. Close to everything by foot or taxi. Breakfast is good (really didn’t mind the quick 30 second walk to the sister hotel). WiFi is also super good!

The location first appears a bit hidden but we liked that. Staff is super friendly and sincere, always checked if everything was ok as we walked by the front desk and was more than happy to help. Our room had everything we needed, from air conditioning to clean bathroom and super comfortable. Our room size was perfect for the two of us. Breakfast was served at the sister hotel, its a 30 second walk from the lobby, super convenient

Staff were extremely helpful.and kind! They worked with us as best they could when we arrived early. The area map.they offer is a nice addition. The hotel is down an alley but once you have your bearings it's nice because its away from.some street noise and an easy walk to all the action. For the price, a great option.

We have unfortunately been moved from Cristina Hotel to a sister property Viola Hotel. But all of the staff have been extra helpful, that we did not feel uncomfortable. Staff was extra friendly and helpful. Nice small hotel to stay on budget.

Cristina Hotel in old town Hanoi
The staff at this hotel was fantastic. They arranged transportation and made tour reservations for us and even helped with airline tickets for a quick jaunt to DaNang. The room was comfortable but the balcony view was of an ugly alley...not quite what we expected This place is in an alley off the main street. It makes it quiet but a bit off-putting as you enter. The breakfasts were great. Ask for Americano if you are an American coffee drinker. They will prepare omelets and other egg dishes. We really were able to get a good sense of life in old Hanoi by staying there. It is near the Water Puppet theatre. Food choices and shops are numerous. Prices all over town were very reasonable although we did find we probably paid way tto much by booking through the service. By contrast, we booked another (and better) hotel in DaNang at 1/4 the price. We'd stay at Cristina again because of the outstanding staff.

Avoid at all cost!
We arrived around 11 pm and the guy working the front desk was drunk. Slurring his words, repeating himself and mixing papers up. When we got to our room it was nothing like the pictures. The room was so small there was barely 2 ft on the side of the bed. The TV did not work and you could hear everything through the thin walls. The breakfast was down the alley way to a different hotel, the food was not good. Noodles tasted like they were a few days old.

Beautiful rooms. Outstanding staff.
Hotel is located in an alley where only motorbikes can pass, yet its still very accessible as the main road is only a few metres away. Plenty of shops nearby. Rooms were clean, beautiful and exquisite like shown in the pictures. Staff service was outstanding. They were helpful and friendly. I broke my luggage during my trip and Lee personally took me out on his bike to buy luggage straps. He even helped me get a good bargain on the price. I was very impressed.

Best Breakfast with Great Location
Cristina Hotel was perfectly located in Old Quarter. Hotel room included a small balcony which we enjoyed tea on in the evenings. Many restaurants/shops close by. Walkable to all of Old Quarter. Staff were great upon check in and check out. We had the hotel book a taxi for 5 am but then our flight was delayed and the gentleman behind the counter said, no problem. We will take care of it. He cancelled the taxi and re-booked for a later time without any problems. Cristina Hotel also had the absolute best breakfast of all the hotels we stayed at in Vietnam. We just loved it and it's super nice that it's situated on the top floor of their sister hotel so you get a nice view to start your day.

Nice hotel right in the heart of the old city. Aside from the main roads wich is a big advantage considering how crowded and noisy Hanoi can be. We received free breakfst for the day we arrived and very early check in.

Short stay in Hanoi before Cat Ba Island
Wonderful little gem in very busy city of Hanoi. We have arrived by bus 86 from Hanoi airport to Long Bien bus stop (paid 35.000 Vietnamese Dom around £1.10 each). From the bus stop is about 15 min walk always straight and hotel is hidden in a small little street on your right. Hotel staff couldn’t be helpful enough - we had a long flight from Uk and decided to catch up on sleep so ordered take away (£5 for two) and had absolute feast ! Following day hotel organised for us a transfer to Cat Ba Island for $12 each (they dropped us at the door of hotel in the island). Breakfast in the hotel was simply amazing - lots of choice (although they have crazy sweet coffee) We stayed in delux room - it’s small, but has everything you need. Bed is rather hard , but we found it in all hotels in Vietnam. I couldn’t recommend enough this hotel - great price , great location , great food and fantastic staff !

Lee was amazing! He was extremely accommodating on our original stay, and even set up something special for our honeymoon. Upon our return to Hanoi, our other hotel was less than great, so he helped us out once again get set up at a room at a sister property. Give this place a shot!
