Lovely location in town right next to other pubs and restaurants. Staff were excellent and the pub was really clean and tidy.
We took a trip around the various pubs which was friendly and fun.
Highly recommend.
The room was clean and tidy. However, it was very hot throughout the night due to the heating being on. Breakfast was nice and cooked well and portion size was good. Check out is 10am so if you have a 9.30am breakfast it can end up a bit rushed.
Warm welcome, lovely pub and comfortable room and bed, nice powerful shower, food was excellent in the evening and breakfast was great.
Only downside, I booked honeymoon suite, I didn’t receive my welcome gift!?
Don’t promote something you’re not going to deliver on.
We arrived parked outside, asked how long we could stay parked ( didn’t know) found somewhere to park around the back
Booked dinner for 7-30 arrived for dinner to be told the kitchen was closed. Asked if there were restaurants in town but told there were only takeaways, so ended up with fish and chips which they allowed us to eat in the restaurant. They gave us a bottle of wine complements of the manager.
Such a beautiful hotel and restaurant. Probably one of the best restaurants in town. Great pub. Rooms are great. Nice and warm and quiet. Right in the center of Britain and walking distance to other shops and pubs.
A wonderfully warm welcome even prior to booking in. Very helpful staff always ready with a smile. My complex dietary needs were more than adequately catered for. The bedroom was clean, tidy and comfortable although small.
The only problem is parking. It seems they did have a small car park but have chosen to use it to extend their outdoor seating. If you are lucky enough to get a spot outside the hotel, it’s only for two hours. It worked out ok for us as we were only there for one night to break our journey home. Otherwise you are advised to park on the supermarket’s car park!
The staff were all very pleasant and the room very comfortable and clean.
The lack of a proper car park was a bit of a problem.
The bed was great but the room was compact!
On the whole the food was good but I had lasagne last night and found it under seasoned and with very little meat.
We waited for ages to order a dessert and in the end had to ask one of the servers for help.
Breakfast was very good.
This is our 2nd stay and equally as good as the first. We will definitely return.

Disliked: Staff & service
No car parking at hotel
If you are driving and intend to stay leave your car between 9-6 so you can go walking ignore this hotel , it currently has no car park and the roads have 2 hour limits.
The staff are pleasant but don’t expect to be served quickly as they are understaffed.
The rooms are small given it’s an old building.
The staff were superb, very friendly and helpful.
The room was very clean and comfortable, dinner service and food were excellent.
Breakfast service was quite slow and my partners poached eggs were hard.
But overall a very good stay and we will return.
Overcharged 1st day for drinks at the bar , all breakfast plate’s brought at the same time meaning we had to send the plates of cooked breakfast back to the kitchen while we ate our porridge,
Had a lovely overnight stsy. Free upgrade to honey moon suite. Lovely room comfy bed plenty of storage and lovely big bathroom. Had Sunday luncj which was delicious. Only small negative was breakfast. Coffee luke warm bacon and egg overcooked.
this hotel was a surprise,it was much better than expected.
The whole place has been extensively refurbished, everything looked new on my visit in mid April 2023.The staff were excellent, the place very clean and comfortable,my room had all that I needed.
From arriving to leaving the attention from staff was amazing. The room was warm comfy and slept wonderfully. Food was excellent and plentiful. Very dog friendly and my cocker was spoiled by the attention let alone staff. I would highly recommend the Manor. Hope to see you later in the year.
A fabulous cosy pub with very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Just what was needed after a 9 hour drive. Very reasonably priced, hearty breakfast and even treats for our 3 dogs. Wonderful!
