"This is a very funky hotel and may not be to everyone's taste as it is very dark. The rooms are well appointed and I loved the window seat. The hotel is a close walk from the main train station, about 8 mins so very convenient. Don't expect to be able to check in early but there is a luggage room. The firepit at the bar is a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine. The stand out is the breakfast which is fabulous."

"Really nice hotel! Staff was very nice. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was a nice plus. The best part of this hotel is how central it is and close to public transport and lots of restaurants within walking distance."

"I was very impressed with my stay at the Hotel Birger Jarl. The actual hotel was beautiful and immaculate, the staff were so very friendly and always happy to help with anything at all. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed....oh my goodness the bed! So comfortable and the pillows and comforter were like sleeping on a cloud. The location was very convenient, walking distance to basically anything you would need - restaurants, bars, shops, public transport. The hotel itself was very quiet, you never had to worry about being kept up all night by the people in the neighboring rooms. The breakfast buffet was amazing, but remember to get there early if you don't want to worry about there being a lot of people. So many great options, and as a vegetarian it is always a concern, but they absolutely cater to vegetarian and vegans so that is a definite bonus. I would never stay anywhere else if I were visiting Stockholm. Thank you for an amazing experience!"

"Only issue is that the room was cold since the central heating wasn't on yet, so they gave me a space heater which cannot be on while boiling water in the kettle, as it blew the fuse- which they attended to right away once I went up to reception. (unless calling thru scanning a code which can be a challenge with a pitch dark room without Windows.) Sometimes the Wi-Fi bounced out briefly. No desk (or fridge) in my room. Def manageable tho. Other than that- no complaints!! Perfect location and clean with everything else needed & great staff, for long or short stays..."

"Staff were nice, good location, great breakfast. Room probably could do with a bit of maintenance. TV is quite small. Had to ask housekeeping for a kettle with tea/coffee in room as we initially didn’t have this."

"The room and bed are comfortable. Breakfast was food, but gets boring after multiple days. The hot selection and cheese/cold meat selection were much less varied than other Scandic properties I have stayed in. The breakfast staff was very helpful, kind and efficient."
