Our stay at Avanti was great. We arrived late and the code arrangement worked perfectly and all of our enquiries were helpfully answered by the member of staff on duty. We also needed to leave our bags until later on departure day and this was made simple and easy. We will definitely be staying again and would confidently recommend Avanti.

The Avanti Hotel is in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood in Stockholm. It's just a 8-10 minute walk to two different metro lines, which is convenient. However, I'm providing just 2 stars for a couple of key reasons: 1. Skylight cover/shade: it's daylight in Stockholm around 20 hours per day in June. There is a skylight on top floor rooms, and our cover/shade was shredded and let in light on all sides, so it was being like on the surface of the sun starting at 2:45am. When I asked management to address, it wasn't. That's probably a 10 Euro fix. It was impossible to sleep past the first daylight. 2. Fire alarm and management response: a 6:15am false fire alarm on one of our days there. Not a huge problem, given point #1 (so we were awake for it). However, when I asked the manager about it, he only said it was not their fault, and that the fire alarm had to be activated 24/7. He indicated we were fortunate that the alarm didn't mean it was a real fire. That was extremely comforting. 3. Cat urine smell: the bathroom had a strong and unmistakable smell of cat urine. A cat from a previous guest had obviously had its way with the bathroom. We were told it was a sewage/pipe issue. Now, the non-managerial employees were very kind, and they are clearly understaffed (the front desk is staffed only from 4-8pm; there appear to only be 2 employees handling breakfast for 91 rooms, etc.). So they are doing the best they can under strict and stingy management.

Dreckiges Hundezimmer, gute Lage

Ja, es ist ein Budget Hotel, dennoch kann man einen Basis an Sauberkeit erwarten. Da wir unseren Hund dabei hatten, haben wir für 2 Nächte zusätzlich 200 Kr bezahlt und uns wurde ein Hundezimmer zugewiesen. Leider war dieses Zimmer in einem absolut dreckigen Zustand. Als wir es betreten hatten, war alles voller schwarzer Hundehaare - das Bett, der Boden, die Oberflächen. Zudem lag ein altes, vertrocknetes Hundeleckerli am Bettfuss. Wir haben direkt Bescheid gegeben und die Reiningungscrew wurde gerufen, allerdings hatte die Person nicht wirklich Lust was zu tun, hat gerade so das Bett neu bezogen und das Leckerli weggesaugt. Ein anderes Zimmer war nicht verfügbar und wir waren müde, deswegen sind wir geblieben. Ich habe dann den Boden selbst mit Tüchern abgewischt, weil wirklich alles voller Hundehaare war. Ansonsten war die Sauberkeit auch ehr schlecht und die Dusche überschwemmt das ganze Bad, weil nur ein Duschvorhang angebracht ist, der nicht abschließt. Die Lage war gut für uns, wir waren super schnell in Gamla Stan und konnten verschiedene Stationen in jeweils 10 Minuten Fußweg erreichen. Das Personal an der Rezeption war auch immer nett und die Nächte waren ruhig. Lediglich das Bett ist komplett durchgelegen. Für uns war der Zweck wichtiger als die Sauberkeit, aber wohlgefühlt haben wir uns nicht wirklich.
