This is one of our favourite hotels! This hotel has amazing amenities, rooms are so well appointed. The bed and bedding was so luxurious it was like sleeping on a cloud. The restaurant located in the hotel was also a 5⭐️. Staff at the hotel and restaurant were so gracious and helpful. If in Glasgow do not pass on this hotel. So close to all restaurants and shopping and felt extremely safe

The Dakota is a wonderful property. The staff was wonderful. The eco-efforts were noticed. The only downfall was the construction going on, but that can’t be helped!

Great property with super sized rooms, but the entire hotel is so dimly lit. From the lobby, hallway and to the rooms. Very strange. Other than that it was top notch.

STAY HERE!!! It truly enhanced our visit to Glasgow. The vibe and ambiance of this hotel is stunning and moody. Staff was so kind and helpful, from the front desk, to housekeeping, to the bartenders/waitstaff. Manos and Josh were awesome! Their bar serves fantastic cocktails. We were obsessed with our room, and just didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be back

I stayed here with my wife on a Monday night away and we loved it. The hotel was absolutely immaculate and decorated to a high standard, dimly lit and definitely of a boutique feel. So let me try and summarise the key points… Staff were well dressed and friendly. The classic room was a really good size, with a comfy bed and a blackout curtain. The room had complimentary snacks/water/shower gels/slippers etc as well as Sky tv — all hallmarks of a good hotel. We had cocktails in the bar on the ground floor — Jack’s — and they were decent enough. Nothing spectacular. But the chilled, calm and dark vibes in there made it a cool place to relax. Breakfast the next morning was £20 a head but worth it. A good selection of pastries and food, basic refillable teas and coffees and a really good full Scottish. The only down side was that my wife was awoken by building works outside at 730am, but to be fair we had been warned about this (albeit after booking — perhaps worth being more transparent?) and offered rooms on another side of the hotel (for an additional payment). I do stress that the noise wasn’t that bad, and is obviously out of the hands of the hotel. In summary, I loved this hotel. It’s clean, trendy, chilled and feels expensive. Great job all, and thanks!

Beautiful hotel. Very masculine decor. My only complaint was the room and bathroom were dark. So many lights but not very bright.

Absolutely delightful stay
Absolutely loved this hotel. Everything about it just felt like a bit of extra luxury, even down to the quality hairdryer and iron in the room! Attention to detail was perfect, what a great job all the staff did. I would have expected to pay more for the service we got. Room was spotless and when we arrived I asked for more hangers, the housekeeping lady was back at my door within 5 minutes with everything I asked for. Turndown service attended our room and went the extra mile, it was noticeably cleaned, not just tidied. All bins were emptied, fresh towels given, and just was delightful to walk back into after being out all day! Charing Cross car park was only an 5 minute walk and the front desk validated our parking ticket so for parking in the city centre fri-sun we only paid £16. Staff also held our bags for 2 hours after checkout, everyone was so accommodating. I would venture to say I wouldn’t bother booking anywhere else in Glasgow without checking here first.

Venetian blinds challenging!
Great hotel. Signature Suite is plush and welcoming. big, comfy bed; good pillows. Two things I would comment on: 1. the pull cords for the venetian blinds need to be longer so that guests of my height (5ft) can reach them to tilt/close the blinds - especially the bathroom ones. I should not have to call Reception to get someone to close the blinds for me! 2. It would be useful to have a coat-hook on the wall next to the shower to hang your towel on. Apart from that, very enjoyable stay - the hotel is nice, Jack's Bar is good for drinks and staff friendly, and the Dakota Grill has some really good food on the menu as well as a decent wine list. I will definitely stay again, although next time I will ask for a sturdy stool to stand on for opening/closing the venetian blinds; the footstool in the Signature Suite was a bit precarious to stand on!

My wife and i checked in great as usuall . Room was tidy apart from streaks on one of the mirrors mould patches in shower room . Called reception to book dinner amazing service from reception on booking us in for 7.30 pm . Resturaunt seemed quiet for a friday night ordered drinks but my wifes cosmo cocktail was bitter so we sent it back . Dinner was almost a 40 min wait when resturaunt looked quiet . Iam a chef of 25 yrs plus and i dont think a chateaubriand can take that long to cook myself. We where out for pre valantines as we both work in hospitality and its hard to find time to get a night out together . Thinking that as we have been to dakota glasgow before for our aniversary we would sample the food from this hotel but my wife and i where very dissapointed . We setteled for a quick trip to a local KFC for our romantic dinning as u can imagine dinning in glasgow afer 9pm is hard to find or book a table

Excellent stay - stylish and comfortable

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay in Glasgow amazing. Bar staff (Adam and others) were 10/10 going as far as writing down pages of cool places for us to see and visit. We are very impressed and will definitely stay again :)

Appalling customer service
The hotel had messed up our booking and instead of apologising and offering an empty room told us they were full and made us wait nearly an hour without any apology or even the offer of a drink. After different false stories they told us there was a room available. The compensation offered was a bottle of wine in the room or a free breakfast. After complaining we were given a less than 20%reduction on the bill. To add insult to injury we were sent an incoherent email in the middle of our stay demanding payment. Mistakes can be made but the way they are handled is what defines the service - Dakota Glasgow made us feel utterly unwelcome after they mistakenly altered our booking and preferred the phrase ‘I understand’ to ‘I apologise’. Dreadful service.

I would like to start by apologising again for the date mix up with your reservation due to the weather conditions. This was an error on our part that meant we were sold out with no availability to check you in when you arrived. In the 35 minutes that you waited for this to be resolved you were updated numerous times about the situation to keep you informed, I am sorry if this was not acceptable.As a gesture of goodwill we offered a bottle of wine or champagne to the room and breakfast for the two mornings complimentary which you declined. We settled on 60.00 to be compensated from the 170.00 fee from your first night stay. This is a total of 35% reduction. It was Expedia who sent you the email, as you had not yet settled this amount.Like I said, we appreciate all feedback and we do hope we are offered the opportunity to welcome you back and showcase the standards you were expecting.Kind regards,Ashley DuncanSenior Duty Manager

Comfortable, quiet room. Had a really restful nights sleep. Lovely breakfast the next day, but a little slow on taking our order. Overall though, staff were lovely and very helpful.
