Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
Spacious, but poorly maintained and disappointing
Unfortunately, our stay did not live up to the impression given by the online photographs. Although the apartment was very spacious, the interior looked tired and worn, and the standard of cleanliness was poor.
Several things were broken or needed attention, including a tap, the toilet seat and the towel rail. Some sections of flooring also needed repairing, and the shower was particularly poor.
The bedding was unacceptable: duvets were provided without covers, and one was visibly soiled. The kitchen, cutlery and glasses looked old and worn, while the kitchen table was very unstable and felt as though it might collapse. For four people staying a full week, only two bin liners and three rolls of toilet paper were supplied.
Access was another major concern. Reaching the apartment involved climbing 71 very steep steps. The entrance and staircase were in poor condition, with old, worn steps that felt unsafe. The poor first impression began as soon as we entered the building.
There was also scaffolding around the building, with noisy construction work and banging starting at 8 am, which disturbed our stay.
The apartment has potential because of its size, but it needs thorough cleaning, substantial maintenance and better attention to guests’ comfort. In our experience, the online photographs gave a much more favourable impression than the reality, and we would not choose to stay here again.
