I stayed there just for one night and had an early morning flight. Very convenient if you are flying in or out of Fukuoka. The location is great, right in one of the main hubs. Lively, but clean and safe, as Japan always is.
Every clean. Staff very nice. Excellent washing machine/dryer. Spacious rooms and comfortable sized beds. Restaurant downstairs. Very close to Hakata Station.
Probably the joint best hotel I used this trip. The room was a good size, bigger than most I’ve stayed in Japan. Good condition with bathroom, comfortable bed, TV etc. Coin laundry on the 2nd floor. Great breakfast and really close to Hakata station. Which ticked basically all the boxes I needed.
There were only two minor drawbacks compared to the other hotel I would rate as my joint best.
1. the room I was in had a window facing a wall so not much light.
2. the other joint best hotel had a washer dryer in the room (Taking these in consideration the other hotel sounds better, but it also cost something like 3 times more than Richmond per night. I would take a hit on the window & washer dryer to save that kind of money & I’m sure there are plenty of rooms with better views than I had).
Pros:
Richmond is within 8mins walk from Hakata subway station
Just a straight road down from the exit opp Miyako Hotel. There's even Daiso store along the way.
Hotel room space is reasonably good to open up 2 big suitcase and store additional small ones.
They provide complimentary kits such as shavers, combs, shower caps and even facial masks at the lobby for your convenience. Footbrush available too on your hotel storey lift lobby.
There's beverages vending machine and microwave available for sharing.
There are alot shops and eateries around Richmond. But shops generally close early. By 9pm.
Cons:
Some or the staff can't speak English well. Get your translator app ready.
There's no dustbin in hotel public area nor toilet.
There isn't any bottled water provided but they do have water tanks for refill at specific floors.
You have to decide the housekeeping routine and specific timing once checked in.
Overall still a very great stay in Richmond.
