This facility fulfills the needs: comfortable beds, hot shower, clean. The location is good : a short walk to restaurants and shops, and the train station. Plus (that we did not use) : the dining area and kitchen, the silverware available (for take out). It is also very quiet and warm. The only staff we saw was at check-in, but we did not need anything. Minus : the wider area with men waiting in front of the church, where we cut through until we found side streets to by pass the area. It was also too hot and we had to leave the window open at night in winter : wasteful. Conclusion : yes, we recommend it.

The room had everything required. Simply furnished and with very comfortable beds and a good hot shower. Certainly a step above a youth hostel and suitable for the middle-aged and families too! A little noisy on a Saturday night as our room was above the front door but otherwise the hostel seems very quiet. Great location close to the trams and only an 8 minute walk from the train station.

I recently stayed at this hostel and had an overall positive experience. The convenience of their passcode locked system for check-in was a highlight, allowing us to access our room even though we arrived at night when reception hours were limited. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free. However, I must admit that the interior design materials used in the hostel weren't very aesthetic. The ambiance could definitely be improved with better design choices. Despite this, the comfort of the rooms and common areas was satisfactory. The limited reception hours might be a drawback for some travelers, as it could be inconvenient if you have specific needs during non-reception hours. Nevertheless, the passcode system effectively mitigated this issue and made our stay more convenient. In conclusion, while there were some areas that could use improvement such as the interior design materials and limited reception hours, the hostel's efficient check-in system and comfortable rooms made for a pleasant stay overall.

It may be in the wrong area for some. We wanted a place near the railway station. The reception was manned and the man was very helpful. It was great to be able to have the use of the kitchen, which was spotless. We easily walked in to Centre and if you wanted a meal there was a Greek restaurant opposite the hotel. Bedding and towels where clean and the room spacy with a door onto a Juliette balcony. There was a small bar fridge too. After 10.00 pm it was very quiet. Definitely use it again. Downside for some the stairs without a lift may be a problem

Nice stay close to the train station
A really good place for the price. A large common room with an excellent kitchen. We had a comfortable stay here. A good restaurant is on the ground floor of the same building and there are also delivery options available for food.

Amazing hostel. Heated floor in the bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. Kitchen, common area was really nice. Definitely a great value.

It was a great price. Comfortable. You had to g up 3 flights of stairs to reach your room and the reception wasn't the easiest to find.

Basic hotel in quiet location
Not too far from old town. With paid parking of €7 in basement garage. No lift so have to carry own luggage up to 3rd floor. Pillow was very bad like non existence. Common kitchen area is big and well equipped.

Quiet place with comfy beds. Not a party hostel as quiet hours are at 10pm. If you are looking to meet fellow travelers, probably not going to happen here. However, I greatly enjoyed the peaceful stay! Located near the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) and able to leave luggage with reception. I would only recommend they have more mirrors in the room. For a 4 person bedroom, there was only one mirror to use.

Nice stay for affordable price
Friendly staff, convenient location, clean condominimum-like hostel with a kitchen in a common area. It has 2-floor rooms, at least, on the 3rd floor and is relatively cheap at a walkable distance from the main bus station and large supermarket. It was nice stay.

One morning there was no hot water. I don't really know whether it was an accident or something which happens regularly. Yet it was quite unpleasant.

Fantastic hostel
Great location close to the shops, restaurants and train station. The private rooms were clean, spacious and the staff were really helpful. Lots of great communal space too and quiet at night.

Great hostel in a great city
The whole city is very friendly and this hostel is no exception. All staff members we met and all the facilities were great. Just to highlight one: the common kitchen is a very cool part of the property and it is also well-equipped. The only unpleasant thing about the room was its temperature: thanks to the hot weather, the room also became extremely hot in no time.

Great room on two levels, located centrally
The room was on two levels with a great view of the surrounding hills; internet connection was fine; the kitchen on the second floor meant that I didn't have to spend too much money eating out. The location is excellent; five mins walk to the station, but far away enough that the hotel is not noisy. Good shops and restaurants close by.

Das gebuchte Zimmer 314 war leider komplett heruntergekommen. Die lieblose Einrichtung war teilweise beschädigt. Die Plissees der Balkontüre waren schmuddelig und kaputt. Die Türen bzw Fenster an sich schlossen auch nicht richtig und waren defekt.Der Balkon selbst bestand aus losen gestapelten Platten und Wildwuchs. Das Badezimmer war schlecht gereinigt und der Duschvorhang extrem ekelhaft verschmutzt. Es zeigte sich also alles andere als einladend. Wohlfühlatmosphäre, Fehlanzeige! Wenn man mit drei Personen ein Zimmer belegt muss man pro Person 10 € Aufpreis dafür bezahlen, dass man ein normales Bett und kein Etagenbett bekommt. Die Betten knarzen immens und haben den Anschein jeden Moment zusammenzubrechen. Warum man dafür Aufpreis zahlen muss bleibt ein Rätsel. Nun zum Positiven: das Hotel ist ideal gelegen und bietet gute Parkmöglichkeiten. Die Service-Mitarbeiter am Telefon und beim Auschecken waren sehr freundlich. Auf meine Anmerkung, dass sie den Parkplatz doppelt vergeben hatten wurden mir zwei Nächte Parkgebühren à 8 € erlassen. Die Bettwäsche war sauber und wäschereigereinigt. Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, dass das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis auf keinen Fall stimmt. Außer der Lage im Herzen Freiburgs und den guten Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es nichts positives zu berichten. Die Rezeptionszeiten sind extrem eingeschränkt und ein Frühstück wird nicht angeboten. Für 90 € pro Nacht fällt die Wahl das nächste Mal auf jeden Fall wieder auf eine Standardkette.

Leider war die Einrichtung meines Zimmer mehr als einfach und bedarf m.E. auch unter Berücksichtigung des günstigen Zimmerpreises einer Sanierung. ( speziell der Tisch im Eingangsbereich!! machte mirden Eindruck vom Sperrmüll ) Auch eine Lampe im Eingangsbereich wär gut. Die Schalter sind ja vorhanden. Im meinem Zimmer roch es für mich sehr unangenehm nachmittags Plastik oder Desinfektionsmittel..? Optimal für Erkundungen der Stadt ist die Lage der Unterkunft. Bahnhof und Altstadt in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. In Umfeld der Unterkunft hatte in im Dunklen ein nicht so sicheres Gefühl.
